[Solution] For my Asus ROG Strix Z390-f Gaming motherboard:

I needed this fix before Unbeast would install macOS. It is by the moderator P1LGRIM (with pictures):

Open your config.plist with CloverConfigurator.

Click Acpi in the left pane.

Click the + sign on the right, under the Patches section.

A blue highlighted line appears.

Click on the left hand end of the blue line - Comment.

Type Acpi Patch.

Click the blue line where it says Find.

Type A00A9353 54415301.

Click the blue line where it says Replace.

Type A00A910A FF0BFFFF.

Save and exit.

Then it would hang At 2-minutes remaining, so I found post #6 by Syd3n in above link to add two kexts ( EmuVariableUefi-64.efi and OsxAptioFixDrv3-64.efi and it worked fine:

Added EmuVariableUefi-64.efi in /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI
Replaced AptioMemoryFix.efi with OsxAptioFixDrv3-64.efi in /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI
And then I had to keep manually rebooting every time the install froze - and picking the drive I was install Mojave on - within the Clover boot options.

Then I was able to get to instal MacOS Mojave 10.14.6 and then run multibeast.

You may want to add clover configurator to the unibeast USB.

Original post:

I am having issues with trying to boot my Mojave Unibeast USB drive, so I can install Mojave on my Asus Syrix ROG Z390-F Gaming Motherboard.

At first, I thought it was failing because it would jump to about 20% progress, then stay there for over 10-minutes. I aborted it and rebooted and tried remaking the Unibeast Installer like 4-5 times.

The last try, I was interrupted by life and came back about the 12-minute mark and it was done. It just jumped straight frrom 20% to Done!

It sure would help if there was some kind of progress bar that would progress, instead of waiting on a seemingly locked Unibeast with no real indication anything was going on.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I reboot to the launcher and it is seeming fine, then it freezes at APFS.

Not sure what to do. I have recreated my installer 4 times and same problem each time. I double checked all of my BIOS settings and they are correct.

A common problem with a simple solution.

I have been for two weeks. lol. It's hard to search for a solution when I don't know what the problem even is.

It would have been nice of you to actually link the simple solution. Solutions are only simple to people who have solved them.

But hey, I'm doing better this time, the last time I asked this question on the forums I was banned. lol

EDIT:

I forgot to mention, that my Unibeast also gets corrupted, as I reboot and it seems to installs MacOS or something as I get the apple logo. I aborted it thinking it wasn't suppose to do that yet as I haven't installed Multibeast yet. Then I thought maybe it has changed and works differently, so I let it run for a while. About 5 minutes it got 75% progress, then 15 minutes it reached 100%, I aborted it at about 60 minutes, and assumed it failed and had a corrupt installer. I had to remake the installer again that took me to the same error message.

Click the tag that I added to the top of this thread or search for 1393.

I tried the tags you listed, but it listed only other problems, I added Solved to the tags and found a temp solution. Ironically, the solution was linked to a thread that you created. lol

Now it starts the install, but hangs at 2-minutes remaining. There are many different ones and they all seem to point to even other issues. Whew! This is turning into quite the rabbit hole.

That thread is not mine, it was started by themageman.

If you have progressed beyond the 1393 issue then you should boot in verbose mode and post an image of the screen when it stops.

Alternatively you could search for '2 minutes remaining'.

I got everything working great on OpenCore including BigSur. Happy to share my config file with you for the latest OpenCore 6.2. Let me know if you’d like it just please spawn a different serial number! :)

Sorry, I meant your solution was in your post in that thread.

I continued in the above thread, that sent me back to post #6

I finally got past 2-minutes, then reboot into windows, the installer didn't go back to Unibeast and continue on it's own.

I rebooted unibeast, selected the HDD I was installing to, it continued on and I was now at 31-minutes remaining, 10-15 minutes later it rebooted and I went back to Unibeast for it to continue and it seems to continue, then ultimately fails, but is continuing anyways on multiple timeouts.

I was using a weird Boot file vault prebooter from preboot. I assumed this was a continuation of the install process?

There are also 2 or 3 option for, "macOS Install Prebooter from preboot"

Here's a screenshot:

Wait a while, it's not unknown for installs to hang at that point for some time and then progress.

You should disconnect all other drives while you install the OS.

Well, I waited 15-minutes. lol It probably need 16. lol

Now, if I can remember if it was the MojaveHDD drive, Boot File Vault Bootloader, or the macOS Install Prebooter file that I booted to? :banghead:

You should disconnect all other drives while you install the OS.

I tried that with no differences, so I leave them in as it is a major hassle to remove and reinstall the windows M.2 drives. Especially, with water cooling (Single CPU and GPU loop) and my prosthetic hands.
