please read the faq for proper hardware profile setup:

The USB HDD I've been using for Time Machine spontaneously got corrupted, so I thought it was a good cue to use it as a test drive for OpenCore.

The OpenCore documentation is right. "It's not difficult. It only takes time." It's not productive time, though. It's a time sink only meant for a hobbyist or a pioneer.

Almost everything works by following the OpenCore installation instructions, but my keyboard doesn't work. I have to plug in a USB keyboard and use that right now. But otherwise, it's almost like you don't need extra instructions that are specific to the Lenovo laptop (yes, there is, like getting full VRAM and WiFi to work).

But I've never been able to get my trackpad to work with Clover, and I have other devices to get working before trackpad (external mouse is more ergonomic anyway). I bought my Lenovo laptop in December last year. The trackpad seems to be so new that Windows 10 1909 doesn't recognize it, but Ubuntu has no problem. Is there anyone who got their Lenovo relatively recently like me?

Hello guys, the forum seems to have no updates now. I have tried few things for opencore with the official guide, that woouldnot boot properly so I fixed a lot of things by searching here and there but some problems still remain. Like the performance is not good and brightness keys do not work, while volume key if pressed for a second and released, it goes to max. Trackpad does not work but I think I can fix it. Has anyone done opencore perfectly? I'm on the latest version 0.6.2

I wonder if the the Lenovo V330-15IKB has gotten old, and everyone's moved on? But it's also unbecoming to have this thread in the Mojave section when we're really all using Catalina.

I'm not going back to Clover. I think OpenCore is mature enough that this is what you want to be using from now on. Actually, there is one thing about OpenCore—upgrading is completely manual, and you also have to tweak the config.plist file, so you can seriously make your system unbootable if you make a mistake there. Otherwise, I still prefer it to Clover.

The Lenovo laptop is just as slow in Linux or Windows, so I shrugged and thought it's what I paid for. Is there a configuration that's faster?

The F-keys could use some remapping for volume and brightness to work properly, but I haven't needed them so I haven't looked. I think I was using some kext fix for them with my previous HP laptop. That's probably where the solution is.

But as for the trackpad, I can get it working with VoodooI2C and VoodooRMI. There's a slight version conflict that makes the system unbootable that's not worth my time fixing, though. I've gotten too used to using a mouse and Bluetooth trackpad. They're both more ergonomic than the laptop trackpad, and my shoulder and back thank me for that. itlwm gets the WiFi going, and IntelBluetoothFirmware gets Bluetooth going.

I am hoping there well be a update for this guide soon. I would love to use opencore and the lastest OS.

Keep up the great work.

I'm going to be upgrading my Lenovo to Big Sur and OpenCore 0.6.4 this weekend.

But VoodooI2C causes a kernel panic during boot in Big Sur, so I have to use a USB mouse or Bluetooth trackpad.

Let us know if you fix the problem with the VoodooI2C. Can I have a copy of your OpenCore folder please. Thank you

Can I use this for Lenovo Ideapad 330 15IKB (7th gen, I guess), Intel i3 7130u KabyLake-R, Intel HD 620U and 8GB ram DDR4, 1tb storage??
