[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

The easy solution, of course, is to just shut down the PC overnight and during other non-use times.

Thanks, but if there is a way and you know of one, feel free to share.
I am willing to go down the hard route to have maintainence wake disabled.

Otherwise I can actually install Catalina back, and if I go down this route , then would migration tool help to migrate ?

Nothing with your post but are you using Siri on your Hackintosh?
Sure, Siri is enabled and I use it occasionally. My home is full of Amazon Echo devices, however...

In the past I have had issues with unknown devices showing in Device Manager. Looking at the path there indicates they came from SSDT mods.

UIAC was one of them that I had happen, so I modded all my SSDT at the time to do the Darwin conditional and that made sure those devices didn't show.
Ah, good observation. Next month when OpenCore 0.6.4 is released I'll add the conditional to every SSDT.

There were so many sleep-related posts earlier in this thread that it seemed we were all drowning in our sleep! :) So I created the Sleep Aid guide and vowed never to touch the subject again. But as Al Pacino stated in The Godfather, "Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in."

So let me just say:
  • We're not aware of any simple sure-fire procedure to disable maintenance wakes that will work for everyone.
  • But in System Preferences --> Energy Saver, uncheck:
    • Wake for network access (or Wake for WiFi network access)
    • Enable Power Nap (again, uncheck this)
  • Then in Terminal, use the pmset command as stated in the Sleep Aid guide to disable:
    • Proximity Wake
    • TCPKeepAlive
  • And in System Preferences --> Internet Accounts --> iCloud, disable Find My Mac
Then if periodic wakes still occur, try everything else in the Sleep Aid guide. Also search the internet and other Hackintosh forums for suggestions.

based on 2 bad experiences with Migration Assistant (and I think others here have had bad experiences, as well) I would advise against using it. in the 2 cases it failed for me, the problem was that it copied some system files from the old system to the new one which of course corrupted the new system. This isn't supposed to happen but it did, twice, for me.

my practice now, after I do a fresh install, is to manually copy applications, downloads, desktop items, etc from my backup to the fresh install. the only issue is that before copying purchased applications that require a key to activate, make sure you have the activation key available after you copy the apps to your fresh install.

Magic Keyboard 2 isn't working in Open Canopy when its connected by USB.
The solution is to delete UsbKbexi driver and from config.plist
also be sure KeySupport is enabled in Input section

The OpenCore 0.6.3 EFI for Z390 Designare already contains that configuration.

sorry I added it accidentally into config.plist with OCC Scan/Browse button...
