I have a mac pro 2009 thats running Mojave. I recently built a hackintosh to replace this machine and planned on using the old box as a back up for studio work. I was able to install and use with no problem the ubit AX200 wifi/bluetooth pcie card. However, when i tried to install the same card into the real mac, its not recognized by the os. My question is, can I load the kext for the wifi that i used in my mojave hack install on the real mac pro to get the OS to recognize and use the device? Thanks :)

You could try installing it to /Library/Extensions in Mojave. Won't work in Catalina as it prohibits 3rd party kexts in /L/E.
Use kextbeast or another kext installer and see what happens. Remember that you should never install Clover bootloader on your real Mac Pro, that may cause serious problems.

Thanks. I just read that the catalina thing about loading 3rd party kexts wasn't true and was a miscommunication... hmm. Gonna see if it will accept the kext tonight. Thanks for the feedback.

For the sake of research, if it works in Mojave, try it out in Catalina too.

I dont currently have a catalina install (the real mac wont take it mojave is its dead stop) and i cant upgrade the hackintosh as my studio software is still not 100% compatible with it. I can however ask a friend to try it to see what happens. I'll see what happens and report back. Thanks

Did you get your wifi figured out on your Mac Pro. I had mine working in Catalina, but not in Big Sur. Wifi shows in the system, but it looks like the kext is not supported anymore.
My Mac Pro is running great.

I am an newbie but I managed to get my 2009 4,1 to 5,1 and now running Catalina or Big Sur but no wifi. Can you please explain the steps to get wifi working without having to buy a new module? I would be happy with Catalina with Wifi working.
