X299 Big Sur Support

Good evening.. now that Big Sur 11.0.1 Final is out, has anyone been able to successfully install it on ASUS Prime X299 Deluxe BIOS 3201? I am trying to do the OpenCore version but it's not that easy. If anyone has gotten this working on their ASUS X299 Prime Deluxe, would you mind to share your OpenCore EFI folder? Would really appreciate!

I have a problem after updating to Release BigSur. After restarting the Asus I get an Error 97. Does any of you with X299 do that too?
The Error 97 when restarting the PC has now disappeared again. After making some improvements in the BIOS and the OpenCore settings in relation to Big Sur (20b29), it works again.

Hi @Loloflatsix, I'm reaching out again. I see that you said to use 3105 BIOS, but I'm currently using version: 1503 x64 (08/03/2018). I was able to update everything from the beta to the full version of macOS 11.0.1 with no issues. Curious, what makes version 3105 better? Also, I just checked the Asus site and they now have version 3201. Should I use that one? Lastly, in your BIOS setup does anything change or should I leave it as you have instructed (on the first page of this post) and just use that BIOS setup? Let me know what you can. Thanks.

Sorry for the misunderstanding : I still use 1503 x64 same as yours ( just checked now) : I use first gen. of CPUs so no need to update for me. ;)
Big Sur works fine for me too.

@Loloflatsix: Are you saying we cannot "upgrade" our Catalina disk to Big Sur? And we have to install Big Sur on a newly formatted APFS drive? Please confirm. Thanks!
There's plenty of report of people simply upgrading their existing Catalina system to big sur.

So if I understand you can not reboot after the first stage : you can first boot the installer , select your install disk and after the first process , you are stuck at reboot ?
That's correct.

I install Big Sur on another disk (a spare ssd I have on my machine)
I can start the usb installer, select the disk, install and it then reboots.
After that I goes to start the macOS installer of the new disk, and it reboots within 2s.

I haven't attempted to directly upgrade my working set-up.

Made some progress. So I can complete the installation if I install Big Sur on my primary disk (on another apfs volume), just not on the separate disk. Maybe OC is unable to properly manage the bootloader being on a disk and the install on another.

I remember being stuck at first reboot on my Taichi X570 : I read that on some motherboards, you must set above 4G on the bios or ncpci = 0x2000 for the boot argument : on my Asrock Taichi X570 I can't use the two but I have to deactivate Above 4G and only keep ncpci = 0x2000. On the Asrock X299 I keep both.
Thanks
I haven't got any "above 4G" setting in my UEFI and I use "ncpci = 0x2000" boot-arg ;) (I could try without it)
Make a new USB installer on another USB key (just in case)

I start the first step but it shutdown before to finished. that means I never see :

So I imagine to start the second step with an unfinished "MacOS installer". And It shuts down as well (after the verbose).

keep investigating

Yeah!!!

So couldn't install on the separate SSD, but this will do.

3 months I've been regularly trying.
