Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

I only tested on OpenCore 0.6.3 for now.

Go to config.plist > Kernel > Quirks and enable DisableIoMapper. If you don't do this, ethernet and Wi-Fi will be broken.

Hello @pastrychef !

I'll try to install Big Sur on another SSD today and keep my Catalina 10.15.6 install on actual. I think about enable DisableIOMapper on my actual EFI partition. My question is :

Does enable DisableIoMapper will affects my Catalina partition ? like breaking ethernet on Catalina but make ethernet working on Big Sur.

No. I didn't notice that quirk doing anything in Catalina. That's why I disabled it.

It took a few hours for me to get through to Apple's servers, but I finally got through and did the update. (I like the old system sounds better...)

System restarted 3 times (I think) and it took about 45 minutes.

Hi,

Will you be testing it on Clover as well?
If not, do you have a guide for switching to Opencore?

I just tested booting with the latest Clover and it worked fine.

If you want to switch to OpenCore, just download the latest OpenCore EFI from post #1 and replace your existing EFI.

Let's see if upgrading to Big Sur, my problems with shutdown will solve.

Hi @pastrychef,

Just an old question about a not serious problem:

When I boot the system, the second stage boot apple logo change the size, it become larger. Would you know any fix for that?

I'm with a rx 580 pulse sapphire, LG 32ud59-b monitor with DP and using your EFI clover r5126.

Thanks

Hi, first of all I would like to thank you for your help!
I am trying to install 10.11 but it stops on the black screen with the white apple. Same on clover and open core, both downloaded from the first post. On clover no message on verbose.
I have the same motherboard but with i5 9400. Maybe because of that?
Sorry for my english.

i5-9400 is not a problem.

Make sure you have disabled CFG Lock in BIOS.

Hmm... I don't know... Are you using a scaled resolution?
