[Guide] HP Elite 8300 & 6300 Pro (all form factors) using Clover UEFI hotpatch

Look at post #124 in

EDIT 2:
Using the MacPro6,1 board ID now. Not sure if power management works because animations aren't smooth. But I think I am getting better Intel Power Gadget result.

EDIT 1:
I have used the wrong board ID.

Ive followed @LisaAlterEgo power management guide with ssdtprgen and CPUFriend. After a restart. The system became slow, stutters, and have reaching high utilization core in idle. Im on OC 0.6.3 Big Sur 11.0.1. Did I missed something?

The guide describes how to use Clover to create on Catalina.
It is not a method of creating with OpenCore.
Follow the guide.

I thought step 13 would fail because iMac13.2 was unsupported,
but when I checked it after installing Big Sur it succeeded.
I don't have the patience to create with OpenCore.

With ssdtprgen ONLY, I get 3.9ghz core MAX, 1.5ghz core MIN and 0% core utilization in idle.
I am getting this results with COMBINATION of ssdtprgen and CPUFriend. I use MacPro6,1. Anyone can confirm if power management is working? Animations aren't smooth and boot time is longer than before but I have noticed temperature drops after using this. This was taken after a restart.

May I suggest that you start with SSDTPRGen (only), see how it performs, and then try SSDTPRGen with CPUFriend,
see how it performs, and use the one that works best. Some people have had trouble with SSDTPRGen. I think
Sniki recommends using the newest beta version, and some prefer the last release version. Your SSDTPRGen
looks ok however.

If you want help with it, show us what options you invoked generating your SSDTPRGen SSDT, and provide
a copy of the generated SSDT. Is this for SMBIOS MacPro6,1 with Catalina 10.15.7? I only have machines that
are configured as iMac13,2 or iMacPro1,1, so my help may be limited.

In your second Frequency graph under SSDTPRGen + CPUFriend, your minimum frequency is half of the
normal, i.e. 800 MHz vs 1.6 GHz. At 800 MHz, your boot and system response is approximately half-speed.
Normally SSDTPRGen extends the 1600 MHz low end by 100 MHz, so you should see a minimum of 1.5GHz
if it is set up correctly. Thats what you are seeing in your SSDTPRGEn (only) frequency graph. I suspect
something went wrong in combining your SSDT with the CPUFriend frequency vectors.

I regenerated my power management file combining ssdtprgen and cpufriend outputs today while running
Big Sur on a machine with an i5-3570K and iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS. Attached is the result of Intel Power Gadget
while running Microsoft Word, but with all browsers turned off. Its average frequency seems kind of high,
but it throttles between 1.5 GHz and 3.8 GHz and the core stays around 40 degrees C = 104 degrees F.
I used the ssdtprgen beta version, but I couldn't get curl to work and instead downloaded the zip file.
I also used the latest release CPUFriend and acidanthera's latest version of Maciasl.

Did your aml come from Dortania or are they all custom made.
I'm using the latest SSDT-EC and SSDT-SBUS-MCHC from 0.6.3 Docs/ACPISamples.
My SSDT-PM comes from combining SSDTPRGEN output with CPUFriend output.
My SSDT-HPET was generated in Windows using CorpNewt's SSDTTime

6:46PM update
Big Sur update went smoothly. New build is 11.0.1 Beta (20B5022a).
Hi LisaAlterEgo,

could you provide a OC EFI, i have nearly the same System Running, except that Grafics are WX4100 wich is a 560 also.

I am New to the OpenCore Stuff, and have also the same MacPro SMBios with Catalina 15.7 running.
( i have CPU Temp 33 degrees and 39 degrees in hot summer by changing Thermal Paste - normal use - Browsing Text etc.)
Very Energy Efficient System, even the WX4100 is Normal Use running 18Watt, Sleep works Perfect !
After 10.15.7 second Update, it is now low as 15 Watt ;-)

Attached Graph of Intel Tool is while making a Backup and Browse........

Thanx in Advance

I'm a little reluctant to hand out complete EFI's because I think the user should
learn about OC and craft their EFI to their machine. If you have a specific question
or problem I might be able to help. Otherwise many of us are awaiting Sniki's new
OC guide. I have posted some info on Sniki's Catalina guide, you might check that.

Got the Installer booting, but it hangs somewhere with the Graphics ? maybe the 07006201 key in the now called Platform ID is it the same as AAPL,ig-platform-id.............
But, i use PCIE Grafics only..........

Could also be due to some ACPI SSDT Problems, took the standarts for now, same as the problems i´ve got with clover and UHD620 on the Laptop.............

Very confusing that ACPI Part, yet not clear MaciASL does not export/save, Clover Output F4 is there, but what to do with all the massive .aml ? take them all ? Can i take my CPU .aml from the Clover install ?

I have no disk5 in the System ? Check Error not writable........
must be the Grafics Ram......

NOT MUCH LOVE FOR OC here, Grafic Probs with OOB Card .........

Unclear SSDT Manual, and Manual not up to Date, many Features in Config List renamed and so on...........
Error on ProperTree save a 0.6.4 to 0.6.3 but OC is only 0.6.3

Even worse, it parsed the Boot Args somewhere, that Clover is starting with them, works, but hate it, Clover crashes when trying to edit inside, not in config present........

And with the SSDT´s yeah compile decompile what ? what to include from the extracted mass of .aml wher and what for in what format ? no info
hey, i even codet the CPU info ( read out from the Intel CPU Dat ) into that thing with Laptop Guide Clover Uefi Hotpatch for HP 440 G5, but that Manual is just unusable.

And guess what, that was not a short go, I providet many users with that working EFI ;-) many Lucky People.
Keyboard Light Battery Special Keys, Deep Sleep Air drop, and so on, all working, due to a working ACPI Manual for that.

I maybe get along with Clover and hack that special feature for BigSur.

Or you just provide me with something working, cause Evolution means not everybody has to do the same again ;-)

You're trying to configure your HP 8300 as a MacPro7,1 with OC 0.6.4?

Yep, but i changed back to 14,2 cause 13,2 is not supported, and the errors are the same.
OC 0.6.3, where the 0.6.4 info is coming from ????

I have Clover like that, cause the H264 and HVEC Hardware Coding was not working before........

The System is running with no Crash for Years ! Even Rendering with Blender runs smooth fast and Cool !

No Kext in OSX System, all in other Clover ;-)

Still have the Clover version was New with Catalina, never changed since, cause the Updates running smooth, no Probs at all, Sleep after 5 Minutes, many wakeups, stable Bluetooth Keyboard and all the other after wakeup.

It seems, that there are still problems with SSDT´s in OC, they load to Windows, very bad with Multi Boot Systems like mine.....

Another weired behavior is:
Text OC Boot Menue
Disabled Legacy Boot in Bios, but after first Boot with OC in Boot Menue from Bios Listed Legacy Options ?
