[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Max kernel numbers. Version 0.7.1 should load under Mojave only, whereas 0.7.6 should load under Catalina and newer.

If you needed to disable 0.7.1 for Big Sur, then it could suggest a bug in OpenCore. Sometime to try would be to enter 20.99.99 for Max Kernel for 0.7.6.

I don't recall seeing anyone confirm that your OC 0.6.3 bundle works when booting into Mojave -- but I just upgraded and there were no issues for me.

I have a designare z390 card and I flash the thunderbolt with the psyche file everything works fine but on Windows it does not work I have a 27 inch imac 2011 as a thunderbold monitor do I need to put a driver for display on Windows please help me ??
I just went through this in setting up a Windows HD on my Aorus Pro with Alpine Ridge card. I had to install the Thunderbolt drivers in windows that are supplied on the Alpine Ridge install DVD. Did you install the Thunderbolt driver that I assume is on the Designare driver DVD?

BUT--don't expect flawless Thunderbolt operation on either the Windows or hackintosh side. After I installed the Windows TB driver and got my apple TB display to work, I booted back to Catalina. The monitor lit up but no camera or display audio. I warm booted back to Windows, then warm booted back to Catalina and the display then worked properly. Your experience may be different.

Wouuups, I have a bad situation... I tried to do the supplemental update, and I don’t know why but I have a boot error, and the bad thing is that I have this error whatever booting I try, even my backup SSD !!
I also have clover that is back for booting, not open core anymore, from my main drive or my backup SSD. I think my backup was still with clover but I really don’t understand what is going on here ... but I am completely unable to boot my system now ...

If your main drive has Opencore on it and your backup has Clover then you must be booting from your backup if Clover is starting
.
At startup press F12 and select your main (Opencore) drive to boot from.
It is always advisable to have a spare USB thumb drive with a copy of your booter on it to help you recover from situations like this.

You should also always update your backup BEFORE installing updates and ensure you can boot from it.

The translation isn't perfect but the integration is very nice, better than Chrome

Please don't hate me for this... :)
  • @xtreem.p and I both have a Z390 Desginare Hackintosh and an AMD B550 Vision D Ryzentosh.
  • He just acquired and installed the new 3rd Generation Ryzen 5 5600X six core, 12 thread CPU (US $299).
  • That processor is 61% faster than my eight core Intel i7-9700K in single core and 30% faster in multi core despite having two fewer cores.
  • This also confirms that 3rd Generation Ryzen processors are compatible with macOS (with standard 17H AMD-OSX kernel patches).

If you have a problem with Home.app or HomeKit on Catalina or Big Sur
Update your tvOS to the latest version (18K57).
Helped me!

Hot plug should work without having to flash the Thunderbolt firmware.
  • Which Thunderbolt device are you using?
  • Please download and run IORegistryExplorer and select File --> Save As..., then post the saved file.
I am using Ultrafine 5K monitors. Hot Plug working well in Z390 Designare. but Not in this board X299 EX Designare. Monitor is on but No USB functionalities like camera, audio, brightness control. Z390 board works well with it after hot-plug applied. The thing I want to have hot plug working in this board is about after sleep/wake. After wake from sleep, all the USB functions not working like I told. I used Z370 with Alpine ridge and Z390 Designare with SSDT. And those boards were working fine with the monitors USB functions after sleep/wake. Only cold boot in X299 board, makes USB functions back.

I do hate you for this lol. Because now I need to save money to get this besides the AMD RX 6800 XT. I love and do hate our hobby.
