this is a known problem with the speech in the installer. Change to US (EN) in config.plist NVRAM > Add > 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 >prev-lang:kbd -- (as "string") "en-US:0" or "en-EN:0" and everything should work... - dont`t forget NVRAM-Reset ;) or in config.plist -> NVRAM > Delete > 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 > insert the kind "prev-lang:kbd"
I'll test (Next week-end) That and will give an update
Thanks
EDIT
Now I remember a 1s picture before the Grey screen: Language selector was written in the the menu bar ;)

if you use the new Beta 11.0.1, it seems this isn't necessary. There are are again more languages in the installer... but you can stay on EN in config.plist -> in your installationen you can choose your prefered language, and so you are safe for further updates which propably comes again only in EN...

I installed Big Sur Beta on my Asrock X299 Steel Legend (motherboard of the X299 refresh line like Creator or Taichi CLX)

I share my EFI OC 0.6.3

It was the language:clap:
pfff I 'm ashamed
Now the the installer reboot before finish, "12 min remaining".
I suspect an NVRAM issue, but it seems to work.
Keep searching

Good day everyone, I'm rocking a Gigabyte Designare EX x299 board with and Intel i9-9900x and everything runs smooth on Cataline using Clover.

I'm tempted to give this a test, but I've never used OpenCore before and a lot of the stuff I'm reading is all new to me, has anyone here been successful with that board ? If so would you mind sharing your proceedings ?

Thanks a ton for the effort everyone.

As a starting point:
- read the first page on this thread
- there are many links for useful tips and for EFI OC for X299 Gigabyte.
- Dartonia Openencore install guide
- be patient but no reason why you couldn't get started with Open Core
