I have Big Sur installed in an NVMe M2 Crucial 500GB SSD, and all works, as it should. I read that the most problematic until the firmware update were the Samsung 970 Pro, but after the firmware update it was fixed...
I think the firmware update you mean is for the Samsung 970 Evo and Evo Plus but not for the Pro. I tried to look into it but only could find the update for those two.

I don't know anything about NVMe as I haven't tried to install one. However, the official OpenCore guide which is generally definitive and up-to-date calls out certain troublesome NVMe models and that it generally appears to be a pain to use this type of storage:

Edit: If you don't think it's an issue after reading that, it's probably the iGPU since I noticed you haven't listed your graphics card. This is the same problem I had since I only use iGPU (which is the default card that comes with your CPU). I have a guide to deal with this issue for Catalina a few posts back and it's helped a few other people. This board doesn't play nice when using only the iGPU in Catalina and Big Sur.
I didn't mention the GPU because I didn't have the model at hand when I wrote that message. My computer has a Radeon RX 580 Series. Will read the link you posted to see what find there. thanks

OK, sorry for the stupid question, but how do I install the ASUS_ACPI if the boot hangs and I can't get to MultiBeast??? Hangs at the troublesome AFPS line no matter how I choose to boot....?

EDIT: Nevermind. Solved.

PLEASE HELP!! I NEED MY COMPUTER BACK!! I can't seem to get any video output at all. I am plugged into the HDMI port on the mother board. Machine boots up, but no BIOS or anything. Any ideas?

EDIT: I went ahead and put in a video card. Gigabyte Radeon 5700 XT. I can finally see the BIOS and can select my thumb drive to boot from to start the install. Once the apple loading bar fills, the screen just goes black. PLLLEEAAASSEEE help me! This is my third build, but I can't figure this problem out and I have a project deadline!

Thank you for any advice.

also removing:
keepsyms=1 debug=0x100

will boot your system quicker :)

Seriously I'm about to chuck this whole thing out the window. I picked this build because it looked like it would all run well, but I haven't even been able to install the OS yet!! I've been at this for DAYS! Anyone have any suggestions for the install freezing with two minutes left?
