Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

same here, i was thinking get back to the z390 or sell a kidney to buy the new mac

Probably both of them, and maybe your liver as well, for a decently specced one

@CaseySJ I found interesting thing thout after successful install. If I used iMac20,2 in config.json - then I experienced system instability - usually Finder stopped working properly, computer started to hang and so on. No certain pattern, but eventually I had to reboot every time.

When I changed the model to iMac19,2 - issues were gone. Completely. So just FYI.

Again - thanks for your great work!

@happyjohn78 According to the OpenCore guide, SMBIOS iMac20,1 would be the better choice for your processor and not iMac20,2. Have you tried this first?

Hello @JohnSRQ,

Couple quick comments about HDMI connection to TV:
  • Modes such as Deep Color, HDR, and Wide Color must be turned off in the TV.
  • Some TVs have special instructions for connecting to a PC or gaming console. Please check the TV's documentation.

Using GPU HDMI I now manage to get a consistent signal on the flat screen now but only if I downgrade the image: I must set to 50 Hz and a lower resolution than the screen's default, in other words, standard definition .

My TV does not have Deep color or HDR, etc. It’s not 4K. I’ve checked and rechecked TV settings and manual. Like I say, it worked with previous build.

I feel like something isn’t set right, the same TV worked with same cable etc with my previous build which had much less powerful GPU. In system report is see Radeon RX 5500 XT 8 GB which is correct. How do I check to make sure the right driver is being loaded. The system report shows AMDRadeonX6000.kext loaded.

Anything I can check in IORegistry? Do I need to modify SSDT?

Thanks

Another option is to download and try SwitchResX.

Hi all

Can you please suggest a supported nic card 10GB both SPF+ or RJ45 that I could use?

Trying to do a direct connection to a 10GB port on file server (freenas) for higher transfer speeds

Thank you
