Hi @esafeddie, I tried your 'Hot Plug' patch and it seems to work, but now I'm getting the message OCS: no schema for matchkernel at 8 index, context <Patch> at boot, just before OpenCore boot picker appears.

What does it mean? Is it a problem?
That means you're missing an entry or made a wrong placement, double check the patch and enter all details exactly as I posted.

Using OC Configurator is not a very good idea, for preference a much better and accurate editor is PlistEdit Pro, see attached pic.

Thanks esafeddie for your reply.

I'm 100% sure I didn't make any mistake, moreover all volume icons turned yellow after first reboot...

Oddly enough, after a few restart, message disappeared!

Now I realize that I forgot to do "After you apply the patch, it's just a case of repair Cache/Permissions and reboot".

Is this the reason why I got the 'OCS' error message?

After any changes to config.plist I normally run 'First Aid' in 'System Preferences', reboot and clean Nvram which will remove remnants of the old settings from the system.

OK, got it... But what do you mean by 'First Aid' in 'System Preferences'?
My friend you really must get to know BS and your system, the moment I mentioned 'System Preferences' that is where you should have looked. 'First Aid' replaces 'Repair Permissions' in previous OS X versions.

I think I asked previously what BIOS version your board is running, with this info we can move on to properly setting up the BIOS so that at the official release of BS your machine will be ready to run Catalina and/or BS but that's your call.

Just got a shiny new USB external disk for Christmas, but it is not recognised in a USB3 port.

A USB3 thumb drive is recognised, as the port is sort of known the the system.
Plugging the external drive into a USB works fine.

All other devices I have tried work Ok in a USB3 port.

Any ideas?

Fixed it. Just need to add the 15 port limit quirk.
Although I might delete the ports I don't just to try to get under the 15 limit
