Since many years my Hackintosh is really realiable and works really nice. But at the moment I got stuck. I wanted to use a new monitor with higher resolution than HD (1920*1200)

At the moment I use two monitors with (1920*1200) each one connected to one DVI Port. My system works well and I see the whole boot process at the monitor.

When I only connect the new 30“ monitor to the DVI Port and set up the resolution to (2560*1440) as ment to be. The picture is blurred, blocked and you can see the pixels and ist almost like the is no antialising. When is switch to lower resolution everything works fine. So maybe it is a problem with DVI and high resolution.

I wanted to test out connection via DisplayPort. But cant get any signal through this port. When booting with Monitor via DP I can see the BIOS Screen and boot screen, and then the screen goes black and nothing happens. i also tested other monitors and cables via DP. Still keeps going black. How can I enable the DP Port?

It is really strange because the card should work native with OSX.

The higher resolution 2560x1440 requires a dual link DVI cable if you want to use the DVI port, not the normal single link DVI cable. I believe your current DVI cable is single link and if so it won't work with the higher resolution. I also just got a new Eizo EV2760 (2560x1440 native) and I had to buy a dual link DVI cable to use its DVI port. (I use DVI with a Windows PC and my main hackintosh system uses DisplayPort to connect to the new monitor.)

The GTX 760 as far as I know will work if you use DVI or VGA (VGA through use of a DVI to VGA adapter included with most graphics cards of the time). But I have not tried to use a GTX 760 to run MacOS via DisplayPort so I don't know if such a configuration will work or not.

Your new monitor has a DVI port? If so how about trying to get a dual link DVI cable and use the DVI port if you can't get DisplayPort to work? Although like you I am a bit puzzled why DisplayPort doesn't work in your case.

I checked the DVI Specifications and I think you made a correct conclusion. The cable i use is only single link. I will get a dual link DVI cable and check again. But for future use it would be really good to get the DP port working.

OK, changed the DVI cable to one with Dual Link and now I get a perfect picture with 2560x1600 resolution.
But Still Display Port ist not working. Any sugestions?
