Regarding darkvoid files, at least SSDT-PNLF and SSDT-BRT6 are responsible for brightness control. Dunno if there are more.
thanks
I'll try that
EDIT : not working with those two SSDTs ... unfortunately
Keep searching
EDIT : Brightness is working in Monitor the Prefpane with its slider ... but not the Keyboard

FYI : I made A custom French keyboard layout with Ukulele ... impossible to configure combo 'Fn' Key
Sound up and down are working but no brightness up and down

Hey just wondering if anyone had any success with installing the Big Sur Beta?
I had success with Big Sur 11.2 on the XPS 9360 Kaby Lake HD620 FHD 1920x1080. OpenCore 0.6.7 ,SMBios MacBookPro 14.1, installed CPUfriend kexts (low power consumption) and Usb wifi kexts.

Graphics,Sleep, brightness, Trackpad gestures, Bluetooth, battery, sound, andUsb C (Dock and Hdmi) all work.

My XPS 9360 triple boots into Mac, Windows and Manjaro Linux. Need Hard Drive EFI partition information in Misc- Entries to boot Manjaro Linux.

Found this Web page

https://medium.com/macoclock/guide-...th-windows-macos-linux-kextcache-131e96784c3f

It uses Openshell.efi at boot in getting EFI Partition information for Linux partitions. Mac and Windows were found by Opencore ( SyncRuntimePermission Quirk in Booter needed to be enabled to stop Windows going into Repair mode). Entering "Ctrl Enter" at boot decides the default operating system.

Power usage is low with CPUfriend kext set to economy mode. The bottom of the laptop does not get as hot and battery lasts longer.

I had success with Big Sur Beta 8 on the XPS 9360 Kaby Lake HD620 FHD 1920x1080. Used the EFI from Acer Swift 3 SF314 54 2018 MacOS Big Sur Guide. Updated the SMBios to MacBookPro 15.2, installed CPUfriend kexts and Usb wifi kexts.

Graphics,Sleep, brightness, Trackpad gestures, Bluetooth, battery, sound, andUsb C (Dock and Hdmi) all work. Not sure about power usage as Intel Power Gadget does not work with Big Sur.

No need for Intel Power Gadget. Use coconutbattery or Battery Doctor and monitor current usage (mAh). A stable and well-configured system on idle load should consume between 800-1400mAh across the range of 9360s.

Big Sur B8 is running really well on my 5-year old MBP, better than any other pre-release macOS in the last few years. When the OS reaches GM I'll upgrade the Mojave installation on the 9360 and post an updated CLOVER configuration.

On that note, I need some suggestions as to a good partition backup software in case all goes t*ts up. I've previously used Symantec Ghost32 (yes, restoring mac via Windows. primitive but 100% effective) but now looking for something more modern that isn't CCC or time machine.

Edit: Intel Power Gadget working on Big Sur Beta 9.

Ok, so after a few days migrating to OpenCore, I've fine-tuned @ebaymic60 's config and corrected a few things for the i7-8550U as well as some other elements (CPU optimisation, sleep/wake, brightness keys). Still need to figure out how to boot Windows natively, but macOS Big Sur B9 and Kali Linux work perfectly.

If I want to use your configuration for my I5-7200u, are there any necessary steps besides switching to my CPUFriend kext? Cheers!

No, there shouldn't be any additional steps, just swap out the CPUFriend and CPUFriendProvider kexts in OC/Kexts and you should be good to go.

Note to whoever's coming from Clover to OpenCore. You need to do the following first:

1) Remove all alien/injected kexts in L/E and S/L/E
2) Reset NVRAM on first boot

Tried the config and swapped also the kexts responsible for WIFI (as I run the DW1560) in the folder and the config.plist.
However, I can’t seem to get the WIFI working with the config. Any idea?
Further, the keyboard layout of the command key swapped hahah that took me a few seconds to realise.

Yeah I map the Dell keyboard with the exact layout as my MacbookPro. So CMD/Alt are swapped... :)
Just put back your original Voodoo kexts and you should be fine.

With the DW1560 you'll need to change a few SSDT patches. I don't have the exact steps, but @the-darkvoid's repo should have the most updated patches for you.
