[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Since updating to the latest Catalina 10.5.7, some weird CPU activity it's running from "accountsd" process, first days it was fixed with a reboot, now it stays up even after a reboot, ( of course tried to reset NVRAM, reinstall BIOS,etc)

Anyone else noticed this?

Thnx

Edit: seems like its new bug in Crap-alina

Please see:

@CaseySJ I have noticed that when I use Gigabyte Thunderbolt 3.0 card on Asus X299-Aii or X299 Asus Tuf mark II motherboards the Sleep breaks. but If I use Asrock thundebrolt 3.0 cards then sleep works fine..any idea what may be the reason behind this? also is there a patched Asrock Thunderbolt 3.0 card firmware available? I have the original bin file from this card if required...also happy to pay for the support...

Question -> Sleep works beautifully - Thanks CaseySJ for the great stuff! As a personal preference, I don't like any key to "wake" the computer. Is there any way to disable that such that in order to wake up the computer I actually need to push the power button? Thanks!
...
For this issue please see Quick Reference spoiler in Post 1, Section 3 (Customization), 3rd bullet from the end.

I also realise that my wifi is now very very slow when my hackintosh wake from sleep, which was never happening before, is this because I deleted many kext from the /Library/Extensions and didnt put them in the CLOVER/kexts/Other folder ?
I also have my ethernet ports that are not working.

EDIT :

I tried reverting and put back the previous kext I had in /Library/Extensions and things works back (ethernet, etc). Still I don't know why OC doesn't boot. I added my previous /Library/Extensions kext list in the screenshots.
Regarding slow WiFi after wake from sleep, please search this thread for “wake for network access”.

@CaseySJ Hi, sir!

Would you help me, please?

I've tried to follow your guide but got stuck during launching the installer on "please switch to xpc or bootstrap_check_in()"

What should I do resolve this issue?
  1. What is the make/model of your monitor?
  2. Are you using HDMI or DisplayPort?
  3. Are you installing Mojave or Catalina?
  4. Are you using Clover or OpenCore?
  5. What is the make/model of the NVMe SSD?

@CaseySJ do i need to make any updates in the config file?

Yes I have an Arturia controller connected via USB! But the freeze doesn't occur when I interact with it tho.
Maybe it's sending nasty signals anyway? Did you find any workaround or you just keep your Prophet disconnected?
The keyboard acquisition and bug first appearance seems to coincide :(

Edit: After searching, some users reported this exact same issue which seems related to MIDI. It's killing USB ports.

I now use a MIDI hub. So prophet 6 -> MIO midi hub via midi cable -> computer via USB.

While I have had other freezes since, that one doesn't happen anymore.

I also have an Arturia Keystep 37 connected via USB... I haven't had an issue with that, only the prophet 6.

Thanks but that was subsidiary, and it is probably related to the removal of all the kext in L/E/

My main issue is that I cannot boot with OC, you asked me to send screenshots of my L/E/, CLOVER and OC folders to find why, they are joint in my post here https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/...700k-amd-rx-580.267551/page-2630#post-2179551
Which guide(s) did you follow to switch from Clover to OpenCore? It would be good to make a bootable backup and try the procedure again on the backup. Keep the main Mojave SSD safe and untouched.

I'm putting back all my previous messages so you can have a clear view of my situation :

Informations I have to provide :
- I‘m using the last version of OpenCore Configurator (2.14.0.0)
- I deleted all the kext in /Library/Extensions/, used Kext Utility to rebuild, but then I had problems that seems to be related to cached kext, so I found in this thread the commands to rebuild the extensions:
sudo mount -uw /
sudo touch /System/Library/Extensions
sudo touch /Library/Extensions

My Clover based system is still working smoothly with the removal of those.
- I have the bios F9g thingy that enables the CFG_unlock by default
- I followed the last mini guide for OpenCore 6.1
- Native VRAM is enabled

My problem
When I’m trying to boot, the system freeze. I’m joining two pictures of the verbose booting where it is freezing (not at the same lines apparently), and also my OC config.plist without my serial IDs for privacy reason.

Then you asked me those informations :
  • Catalina:
    • /Library/Extensions
    • kextstat | grep -v apple
  • Clover:
    • CLOVER/kexts/Other
    • CLOVER/drivers64/UEFI
  • OpenCore:
    • OC/Kexts
    • OC/Drivers
I'm also putting them as joint screenshots. The previous library extensions is what my L/E/ folder was before I removed all the non native kexts (following the guide to switch to OC).
I put them back so my main drive can work fully.

I already have a fully bootable backup that I can work on instead of the main drive.
