We should not rely on the iGPU to drive the monitor. Instead, any AMD GPU is strongly recommended, even a low cost RX 480 or RX 580. These GPUs are very Mac-compatible.

Oh of course. I'm such a big idiot. I forgot Winbond chip got that dot on it.

I guess I also need to order a new clip, because the pins of this clip are getting loose after plugging the jumpers to them. I think I'll just go for SOIC-8 Pomona 5250. The other one got pins too close to it, making the jumper cables too fat to get in together on the pins. it makes the pins loose and pushes the pins down. Maybe I got a bad clip, or perhaps I just don't know better. Hehe. Got to love the learning experience.

Is this one version B since it says 'CAN ICES-3 (B)/NMB-3(B)? Thank you!

Because it says Rev 1.00, I would think it's B. However, I've not seen anything else printed on the two such cards that I have. Maybe @NorthAmTransAm has a definitive answer.

And recently I switched from Clover v5.0 r5122 to Opencore 0.61 (with a view to the future).

Now my question: Is there a way to install the two missing ACPI drivers under Windows 10. Or does it make more sense to leave it that way. The drivers come from the fact that I had the bootstrip.efi from Opencore entered into the BIOS.

Thanks! Seems that I was plagued by bad luck and bad hardware. First was the bad memory that caused random system freezes, and installation failures... Then I had a bad Fenvi FV-T919, just bad luck, but very puzzling because it worked perfectly in Linux, and the Wi-Fi did not work at all with OSX ... seems that somehow the bug was in the firmware, not in the hardware. I purchased another Fenvi FV-T919 card, and it works flawlessly without any software changes whatsoever, easily reaching 800Mbps connections. By the way, also works without issues on Catalina 10.15.7. Now I'm testing my Designare+8700K+RX580 system to make sure works well with sleep, and if that goes well, I will start using it in full production mode. Thanks so much for your excellent guide, CaseySJ! I will be in this mode for a while, and sometime next year when they get to a very stable Big Sur 4 or 5, I will switch gears from Clover to OpenCore, and migrate to Big Sur. Best!

My rig is nearly perfect. The only issue I have now is one of my monitors doesn't wake from sleep. It's just a black screen, and I'm not seeing anyone with the same issue. It's a new issue because I just recently upgraded my monitors to two 4k LG 27UL500-W. They are both connected by HDMI.

Ditch the HDMi if you can - try DisplayPort??
