Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

If the system keeps booting into BIOS, it may indicate that BIOS flashback has occurred. This problem should be reported to Gigabyte.

It would also be advisable to try the process of elimination by disconnecting all non-essential components including Commander Pro (just disconnect it from USB, but keep the fans connected).

Eventually, of course, it may be necessary to exchange the board. But the problem should be reported to Gigabyte Tech Support via the online problem reporting site.

Hi Again,

As you suggested, I logged a support case with Gigabyte regarding my Splash Screen Hang problem. One of their response suggestions was to test my RAM modules using memtest86.exe. I have done this test overnight and have the test results which I am posting here.

Are you or is anyone here familiar with interpreting these results. They are indicative of a fault but I’m not sure how serious it is and whether the RAM should be swapped out.

I have 4 x 16GB Corsair Vengeance modules so I guess I also need to remove one pair and test each pair individually.

Since no one has had any ideas yet on my post (Link to my post), let me run one by you all and see if it makes sense before I rip everything apart. I'm concerned that something I transferred from my old machine to the new hackintosh is causing the sleep issue. Is that possible? Maybe I should use another hard drive and do a fresh install (without transferring anything) using my current EFI and see if sleep works. If it works, then it is something I transferred. If it doesn't work, then I'm back to square one. Is that a fair (and worthwhile) test?

Thanks,
Ed

I consider ANY error to mean the RAM should be considered bad and not used. You never know when an error will cause your system to crash or corrupt an important file. Not worth the risk.

Check the warranty. You can probably return them for a replacement. Also note that most memory vendors will consider a kit with multiple RAM modules as a single unit for warranty/returns. So if you bought a kit with 4x modules, you may not need to test them individually because they will want all 4 returned. If you bought 2 kits, then yeah, you need to narrow it down.

Other users have had problems with the Fenvi FV-T919 WiFi/BT card, try sleep with this card removed.

Just a little question : is it safe to upgrade to 10.15.7 or do we need a new version of OC? Or at least to replace Lilu, WEG, etc. versions?

Interesting... I thought all their issues were with WiFi or BT. I'll try that tonight. I can probably live without it, if necessary. Thanks for your feedback.

The Bluetooth connects to a USB port on the MB, which can be the source of some sleep issues.

No need to update OC or kexts. As usual though, it is always wise to make sure you have a bootable backup before any updates are installed.
