Gigabyte Z490 Vision D (Thunderbolt 3) + i5-10400 + AMD RX 580

Hi Everyone,

I thought you might like to know that, following on from the information posted here, I've just swapped out the 970 Evo that I was using for the MacOS boot drive with a Western Digital SN750 and the boot delay has totally gone!

Thanks for all your help on solving this issue, this thread rocks

I have a probably dumb question. How does one add storage aside from the m2 slots? Do you use the thunderbolt port or the usb?

I use Apple keyboard and Magic Trackpad with Fenvi 1200, and it sleeps fine if i set to 1 minute or when I put it to sleep.

Having some fresh issues with Facetime. Spent a few days trying to figure it out but can't seem to. Able to make calls using my iPhone, and the Facetime app:
1) Doesn't seem to be picking up my microphone
2) The little audio bars in the Facetime call window move when the other person speaks, but I can't hear anything
3) It doesn't dim the audio in the background like it usually does

Can't see any sound settings in the Facetime app. iMessage etc.. still working perfectly. Any ideas?
What are your Microphone and Output settings?

here are my results so my 6 years old 6600k with vega 56 is twice faster in rendering then I9 10900k z490 with Radeon VII ??? how is this possible. Geekbench 4 with radeon vii and i9900k was with radeonboost.kext and with imac pro 1.1 which gave me rendering time of 3:12 while this machine using this EFI giving me 6:38 minutes of rendering time ? and I tried to install catalina and to see if this is because of big sur and I got almost same results there did not even bother to write it down since it renders very very slow. Something is wrong here for Radeon VII, even card when I am rendering I can not hear fans or nothing like it is using igpu for rendering or something, it is very strange that spending so much money is giving me nothing, and I also had real 2019 i9 Imac but I forgot to do same tests and now I am curious to see same test on the 20.1 i9 real mac

The CPU scores are fine, including Cinebench, which is CPU-intensive. Only the GPU scores are off. Are you using the same RadeonBoost on the Z490 Vision G?

Hello, does it matter if I take the i5 10600KF or 10600K? I mean I'm planning to get the Gigabyte Gaming OC RX 5700 XT so do I really need the Intel UHD 630 GPU to get a hackintosh going?
Not really. But the iGPU is helpful if the card goes kaput for some reason.
Agreed -- given the small price difference between the K and KF, it's better to go with the K because iGPU can be useful in emergencies. Also, macOS will utilize Intel QuickSync on the iGPU.

Glad to hear it. For the sake of accuracy, you mean that you replaced the Samsung 970 EVO or the 970 EVO Plus?
