[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@CaseySJ Thanks for taking the time to reply!
Sorry I have to update my avatar, I don't use the X99 Strix system anymore. So I put it in my ASRock Z370 and I am running 10.15.6
...
So, on OpenCore it seems further away, or maybe more honest as via Clover.

UPDATE: I did test between my MacBook Pro and the mackintosh, however it 'sees' a Macintosh in the system profiler, there is now way to do a file share or whatsoever. When looking at network settings on both thunderbolt bridges stays on ' inactive'
Also tried to put my MacBook into target disk mode, but this also did not work.
I tried to boot with OC and Clover. So no Thunderbolt working.... maybe I did something wrong with making the SSDT DROM?
If you post the IOReg file from your system and the Thunderbolt SSDT, I can get a better idea of what may be happening.

@CaseySJ or anyone else - have you guys had any trouble with
XFX RX 5700 Xt Thicc III GPU? I swapped out my XFX RX 580 for it and it just went black. No display whatsoever.
Although I have not seen any problem reports with the XFX RX 5700 XT (only with the MSI), the first thing to check is whether the Boot Arguments (in NVRAM section of OpenCore Configurator) contain agdpmod=pikera.

Hi all,

It would appear that under Big Sur Public Beta 2, the EFIClone_v2 script no longer works so it's not possible to make a fully bootable backup of the EFI with CCC.

Hey guys, my hackintosh started to have issues with waking up from sleep. I know it's been discussed a million times, but I believe my issue is slightly different.

1) I have MacOS/Windows dual boot. The issue happens regardless of the OS the computer goes to sleep from (even when it sleeps or hibernates from Windows).
2) I started having this issue around a week ago, meaning it hasn't occurred before. I built my hackintosh in March (no issues for 6 months), so basically something caused it very recently.
3) Stuff that happened recently (within the last 2 weeks):
  • I have a dual monitor setup; I swapped one old 19" monitor for a new 27" one. Both are plugged in to the video card via HDMI.
  • I tried installing beta bluetooth drivers according to this guide. Bluetooth started working (note: I don't have Fenvi or any other WiFi card). Thinking that could be the cause, I tried reverting the configuration by setting uia_exclude=HS14 (didn't help) and by removing provided SSDTs (didn't help either)
  • I noticed the artifacts on both displays (I think twice), like red/orange lines, then displays froze. One time after waiting for several seconds they "unfroze" and I was able to use the computer as usual, another time I had to do a hard reset.
Hard resetting the PC (pressing reset button on the case, power button long-press or unplugging from the socket) doesn't boot from the first attempt. I have to do around 5 resets/shutdowns in order for displays to light up.

I use my hackintosh as a work machine, so I would really appreciate any help!

Yes I was afraid that was going to happen because Apple has introduced new capabilities in APFS.

@byteminer — have you tried installing Big Sur public beta?

First of all, kudos for the well-organized and detailed explanation and background information! This is how problems should be reported!

First, let’s clarify the issue:
  • When you say the system exhibits “issues waking from sleep” in both macOS and Windows, what does this mean exactly? Does the system enter sleep and stay asleep? But when a key is pressed or the mouse is moved, the system:
    • Does not wake up at all (fans don’t spin, lights don’t turn on, etc.)
    • Does a partial wake (fans spin up, lights turn on, but monitor(s) remain black)?
    • Does a full wake, but becomes unresponsive immediately afterwards?
  • Just to confirm: This happens under Windows as well?
Now some additional questions:
  • Have you tried a CMOS Reset?
  • Have you tried going back to the old 19” monitor?
  • What video connector were you using on the old 19” monitor? VGA? DVI? HDMI?
  • What is the make/model of the new 27” monitor?
    • If this is an HDMI 2.0 monitor, are you using a certified HDMI 2.0 cable?
  • What is the make/model of the second monitor?
  • Regarding the on-board Bluetooth, you mentioned removing SSDT and adding “uia_exclude=HS14”.
    • Have you already removed the AppleIntelBluetooth kext?
    • Have you replaced the SSDT with the original USB SSDT (SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V7.aml)?

Thank your for getting back! Here are the answers to your questions:
  • The system enters sleep. Upon key press or mouse move it does a partial wake (fans spin up, lights turn on, but monitor(s) remain black)
  • This does happen under Windows as well (after I send the PC in hibernation)
  • No, I have not tried a CMOS Reset
  • Unfortunately, I no longer have the old 19" monitor
  • The old monitor (Dell 1909W) had a DVI-D connector. I used a DVI-to-HDMI cable, that was plugged in the video card.
  • The new monitor is Philips 278E1A 27". It's exactly the same make/model as my other one, that I used from day one. I'm plugging it in the same HDMI port that was used for the old monitor. And I'm using the original HDMI cable that came with the monitor. It is certified.
  • Have you already removed the AppleIntelBluetooth kext?
I tried the scenario, without removing it, and then after removing it. The outcome was the same - Monitors do not light up. And yes, I did replace the original USB SSDT (SSDT-UIAC-DESIGNARE-Z390-V7.aml)

Hi @CaseySJ! First of all, thank you for your hard work and repository of the firmware files.

I'm about to disassemble my X299X Designare 10G to program a firmware as described in this thread:

The motherboard has a chip to be programmed, covered by a heat sink, which requires disassembling of the board.
While I'm not a stranger to such kind of work, I'd hate to do it more than once.

I want to make sure that the file from your repository I'm about to program is actually intact. I couldn't find any checksums for the files; it would be nice to have them to verify the downloads.

Running it under Mojave, I have the following:

sha256sum -b DESIGNARE-Z390-NVM33-Elias64Fr.bin
02427ca11e3ea155db5bbfac6ecc0b76d467f05678436b8b6b375bf35acdd222 *DESIGNARE-Z390-NVM33-Elias64Fr.bin

Thank you!

Edit @Elias64Fr You might have an answer as well, thanks!

Just to eliminate memory problems: did you tried a Memtest?
