System freeze after wake from sleep on macOS Catalina was driving me crazy and took a substantial amount of time from me, finally the insanely nonsense DW1820A card that can cause a wagon of non-logical issues turned out to be the issue

Hi @Sniki,

Any solutions for this issues except replaced card? I have DW1820A in my laptop and got that issues like you said.
In my case I have to turn wifi off before sleep to fixed System freeze after wake from sleep.

Just did a fresh install of Catalina in my T440 with no change in the config files except only updating the kext from Acidanthera.

2. A short alert sound that triggers everytime I restart or shutdown the machine.
This issue no longer exist. Might be because of the clean install.

I purchased a 94360NG and replace my CS2 (I was still using Mojave at that time), WiFi works and BT card is detected but Airport does not work. I found out that my 94360NG's maker is Asus, therefore I might need the BT kext. I might tried the card again when I do a fresh install later on.
Before I did a fresh install, meaning in Catalina 10.15.5, I tried this card again. Wifi works, but Bluetooth continuously on-off (connected-disconnected) therefore the BT devices is unusable. Anybody tried 94360NG in their Thinkpad with native success for both BT and WF?

Update to 10.15.6 Supplemental 2 is also smooth while still using OC0.5.9.

Now is just waiting for the latest T440 files from @Sniki as I now still use combination of files from this guide for T440s and some from old config files from Github page for T440. Even though it is stable for my use, specifically I would like to have F4 mic mute lamp works and some other specific T440 perks.

Thanks again.

Hi @soeryobadja I use @Sniki `s T440S OC with my T440. It works really well but only with 1 battery. You have second battery working with files from GitHub? I was thinking about mergeing them to OC but it goes a bit over my head. May I ask that what WiFi card would be best for our laptops that fits?

Thanks

Hi @jarno83
It took a combination of few things, SSDT of T440s OC version then comparing the config.plist of T440 at Github and T440s of the OC specifically on "Patch". I had both battery working perfectly. The only thing that does not work for me is the Mic Mute indicator lamp (the F4 button works to mute the mic, but the indicator does not lit up if mic is muted), which I believe has something to do with the keyboard's SSDT.
Nevertheless, I attach my EFI if you want to use them. It is still OC0.5.9, but with the newest kexts of August.
I use BCM94360CS2 wifi card, thus it is natively working. It must use an adapter to fit with the slot at T440, which in turn makes the bottom cover bulge a bit but still OK. It might not work with the dock because of this bulge, but since I don't use the dock then it should be OK for me.
I intended to use the BCM94360NG as it is in M.2 form factor, but when I install it, the BT is not stable. Might need some driver, I don't know, but as I am OK with the BCM94360CS2 then I revert back to it.
Hope it helps.

PS: don't forget to fill in the serial number and all the other stuff from your existing config.plist

Thanks. @soeryobadja. Today I make new install to bigger SSD and setup my hackintosh for school work. I'll give your EFI a try thanks again.

Hi @Sniki
I notice a new issue with the USB port if connecting to iPad. I am trying to connect the iPad as 2nd monitor using Duet app. However, it keeps on connecting-disconnecting that I cannot access anything. It shows in the iPad that it is charging, but no data connection can be made. I am using iPad Air 2. This problem happens on both USB ports.
When used with another devices, like USB Audio Soundcard, Flash Disk, even connecting to my Samsung with Samsung Dex, everything works fine.
Or maybe anybody here has similar problem?
Thanks.

Edit:
Today I tried on my other Hack, a Skylake NUC6i3, with no problem. iPad can connect properly on the USB port, and Duet apps can work flawlessly. I am thinking that it is because Haswell do not use SSDT-USBX for high power USB? Any other way that we can have this in Haswell using OC? Thanks.

I recalled some time ago that @CoBrA2168 had issue with connection-disconnection when connecting iPhone while we are still using Clover. Have you solve the problem? If I recall, you did not (or maybe have not) jumped ship to OpenCore? If you have, do you still have this problem when connecting your iPhone?
My iPad keeps connecting-disconnecting continuously that makes it unusable with my T440.

You are correct - I still have this problem on this laptop. Yes, I'm still on Clover and Mojave for now. I figured this was a hardware limitation of the laptop and nothing we could solve with software, since I experience similar connection issues even on Windows 10.

If you manage to solve this problem or find a solution, please let me know. Are you on OpenCore yet?

Problem is still present.
Tested myself and i did check XHCI device quickly yesterday and i’ve seen that a lot of things happen there, i have to trace if any call, or object is getting accessed or is not accessible that may be responsible for inject/breaking correct USB Power Properties.
Will take a look when i have time for it.

I finished the T440 guide yesterday and i only have to create the repo and upload the files.

@CoBrA2168 yes I am on OC already. At this point I seems to agree with you that this is a hardware limitation, as I tried on my NUC6i3 hack also with OC and it runs normal and connect smoothly for dual display with duet app.

Thanks @Sniki
A fun experience tweaking this laptop to make it a full macOS features. Thanks again.
