Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

For some reason, after flashing to F9k, my monitor couldn't sync to whatever resolution and/or refresh the motherboard was sending out. But my TV was able to.

I hope you get a kick out of this...somehow I managed to revert my BIOS to F8 (no clue when that happened) and my rig has been apparently working for who knows how long. I may have even successfully re-installed macOS with it reverted?!

At least now I know why posting to BIOS has been such a pain!

Flashing to F9k...

Yeah. I have found that F9k is much more reliable and stable. The only issue you may experience is on first boot, you might just get a black screen. I connected my computer to a TV to be able to see the BIOS screen. Once settings are made, I never had the black screen problem going in to BIOS again.

F9K here - never a black screen using IGPU.

Please go in to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/Other/ and delete RadeonBoost.kext and try booting with the 5600 XT again. I think that's the culprit and everything should work once deleted.

Well, hell ya, success... so glad I didn't get a 580, lol. Thank you immensely for all the help, gonna tie the cables down and deliver the system to the owner, should make him a great workstation... well, after i populate the numbers anyways, i still have to look at the guide for doing that.
Seems this latest EFI worked well for a few of us... might be worth posting in the OP.
Thanks again!

Updated Clover r5120 EFI for better Navi compatibility on post #1.

Updated OpenCore 0.6.0 EFI for better Big Sur compatibility on post #1.

One last question for anybody - I'm sourcing the wifi card, could anyone show me the correct adapter that I need for PCIe... I see an M2 adapter, not the one i need. Thanks everybody.

Post #3 has a lot of info on Wi-Fi/Bluetooth cards. Also, the Fenvi cards are very popular among hackintoshers.

Hi @pastrychef ! First of all thanks a million for this thread!
I've been enjoying this and after all I've decided to build mine, My plan is to have a dual SO and use this one to record music (Logic Pro x) and make videos (After effects)... but I have a couple of questions:
- As I'm newbie on this and there are many terms that ain't familiar with them, what do you suggest me to start with this?
- I'll buy the components you describe at the beginning but I realized the M.2 NVMe are not there, could you write what are you are using?
- I have a AeroCool Cylon RGB case, this is a Mid tower, is this enough or should I buy a new one?
- After read many responses (not all because they're more than 200 pages :D) I read many are using i7 8700K, would it work with i7 9700K?
- About the power supply you mentioned I cannot found it on Amazon, I found this one. Just to know, what's is the limit down for this board? 600x?
- Also I'm planing to get the RX 580, I think this one could be enough for my purpose on making videos (Informative)

Well these are my questions for now, sorry for the newspaper and thx one more time for your dedication to answer us!!
