Going to follow your guide today. Big thank you for posting your Z77 build. I have the same board and it is still working well. Have a bit of time to update my system and try a brand new install on a new SSD.
My 1TB Samsung 860 EVO is bricked at current due to an issue with an over install of Catalina MacOS 10.15.1. Going to give your instructions a go and report back here. All updated plugins have been installed.
I also have the same board..and Thank you so much for posting all this info!!! im on high Sierra(didn't have time due to my last job) and gonna do a clean install on a new SSD... my question is should I install my new Radeon card prior and then use ATI in unibeast?

and also I been using 14.2 as my model, however I have to drop tables manually before I can boot in clover(4334) is that the case with you guys?
Thanks again

My habit historically was to install without many add on cards, stabilize, and add them after. I did this for graphics cards multiple times. And I never dealt with dropping tables in my config.

Good luck!

So if im doing a clean install without the Radeon board installed should I setup my Unibeat with Nvidia or Ati inject?

I would go ahead and include the inject - I don’t believe it ever caused a problem when I didn’t use the card. Once you are installed and stable, install the card and confirm stability again booting from USB. Then create a new or copy that EFI to your SSD EFI and use MultiBeast according to the standard guides.

Everything went well I have Catalina installed with icloud and messages support since i used the same 14.2 system def with all the same serial and board #'s.
However when i tried to bring in my backup from migration assistant(users & apps only) the system wont boot back up when i restart. I was using the a gigabyte 970 GPU in High Sierra, but now im running the Radeon 64 and it wont show up in the About Mac. Any suggestions on either issue? I did try removing all the nvidia kexts from L/E before i rebooted and no dice .
Thanks

Unfortunately, I’m learning (mostly the hard way) that Migration Assistant and Hackintoshing don’t mix. Plenty have warned me, but I’m stubborn. I have to re-do my most recent hackintosh from a reformatted hard drive as a result - it kernel panics roughly every three days and it didn’t happen before using Migration Assistant.

My best recommendation for you is to try going back to your Gigabyte 970 GPU and see if you can boot after the Migration Assistant transfer. If so, THEN try putting the Radeon 64 in place and seeing what happens. If you can’t get it to boot, it might be time to re-install Catalina and manually restore apps and copy files over.

Sorry I don’t have a better idea...

Ive used Migration assistant when i upgraded from Sierra to High Sierra without an issue. will i beable to boot in to Catalina with my Geforce card? also i started using VirtualSMC instead of FakeSMC , however i have removed those kexts prior to rebooting as well.
Maybe i'll try bringing the applications in again and then plugging in the Geforce
thanks for the suggextions

You need to have EITHER FakeSMC or VirtualSMC. Check all next folders fo make sure you don’t accidentally have both...

not sure about that card and Catalina, but I think it will work if in the compatible cards list in the Hardware section of this site...

I finally got it boot, it was the FakeSMC that was messing things up .. however now I can't get SABnzbd to connect to my news server.
I also tried NZBget .. checked my router which btw I haven't changed a thing except the OS.. anyone have any suggestions on this issue?

I don't use that software, so I'm not going to be much help. I'd first confirm you can log in to the destination servers from your machine via Terminal or similar...if not, then you likely have some kind of networking config error on the Mac (check outgoing traffic firewalls, etc.) or your home network. Good luck!
