Gigabyte Z390 M Gaming build with working NVRAM

Is it possible that it takes a while to mount? The USB-A mount was almost instantaneous, but after 5-6 seconds the mount still hadn't occurred via USB-C. I'll try again and see if anything changes, thanks!

Found the problem: the motherboard face plate makes it difficult to plug in a USB-C device all the way reliably. I'll be making some modifications. =D

Anyone else repeatedly getting the red "1" indicator on App store? As if you have an update then you click on App Store but there is no update for anything. Get it approx once a week, doesn't bother me just curious to know if others get this?

No. I have not seen this behavior.

My USB kext is configured as such:
All the motherboard ports work.
The USB 3.1 gen 2 ports do not have USB 2 functionality due to me hitting the macOS 15 port limit.
The USB 3 motherboard header works.
The USB 2 motherboard headers are disabled except for one port for Bluetooth.

Hi there.

Like @pastrychef , no, but ...

I discovered that when running an older version of macOS, when a new version of an iWork app came out - Pages, Numbers etc - it would show as a red "1" but wasn't available when I looked, because it wasn't compatible. You can check by loading the App Store app and, in my case, checking the iWork apps. It tells you a new version is available but is not compatible with your version of macOS, so not available to download.

Anyway, might be totally unconnected. Just my two-cents worth

@pastrychef I have apply bios f9j and I see CFG unlock and Serial port in bios and not have bug with monitor.
With f9k, I have bug with monitor

Doesn't removing USB 2 from a port also impact its ability to give you 3.0 at expected speeds/functionality? My understanding was the 3.0 protocol expects & utilizes the whole set of connections. Perhaps I've misunderstood.

Unrelated: I turned off CFG using the technique you shared in the first post that involved booting into the Grub shell. I need to temporarily re-enable it for something. Can you advise how that would be done?

After you reboot from a freeze, you do you get kernel panic log? If yes, please copy/paste here.

Does iStat work when Intel Power Gadget is uninstalled?
Here it is

Code:
setup_var_3 0x5C1 0x1

The EnergyDriver.kext is causing your crashes. Please look for it in /Library/Extensions/ and right-click it to "Get Info" and see what version you are running. I have 3.7.0 and it works fine.
