The everything works Asus Z390-I Gaming * i7-8700K * SAPPHIRE NITRO+ Radeon RX Vega 64 Build

Follow up question, does the EFI OC quoted above had the radeon boost mentioned in #1?

What boot loader are you using, which EFI folder did you download and use?

I used this EFI from your post here. Modmike's #1 OC EFI does not work and hangs on Apple logo on installation. Your's worked fine except no HDMI audio and only the two blue USB ports at the back works.

EDIT: nevermind I thought your reply was for my post. lol

That's fine, I don't understand why that stuff wouldn't be working. I just updated to OC 6.0, you can try this version and I can verify HDMI sound and USB ports are all functioning on the same board.

Has anyone tried this procedure or EFI on a Z490-i? They’re currently a bit cheaper to buy and, obviously, support newer CPU
Its a little different setup and still evolving, this is an "E" board but very, very similar to the "I".

thanks for this link. I will watch it. For now, I think I’ll build my 3rd hack in another Z390, as it’s just going under a TV. Might be worth the extra $$ for the older mobo:)

Its a solid platform for sure, the Z490 is promising but some of the CPUs still require emulation to work.
