[Guide] Intel NUC7/NUC8 using Clover UEFI (NUC7i7Bxx,NUC8i7Bxx,etc)

You have a different model than I do and one thing I have learned supporting NUC8 users is that the i5 and i7 need slightly different configurations. As far as display issues if you have different types of monitors and one works and the other doesn't its not unusual. All monitors are not created equally in the eyes of OS X and how graphics output is configured. Sometime output or connection settings can be changed using Hackintool to solve those issues, sometimes not or that has even my experience.

One other thing to note is that there are hundreds if not thousands of stories across the Hackintosh forums documenting what works for some users doesn't for others even with the identical hardware. The NUCs are no different.

The difference in the EFI folder I uploaded is the addition of the SDT-USBC.aml file in ACPI/Add. I also tweaked the USBPorts.kext and eliminated the internal headers for simplicity.

As far as uploading a bios back up that would assume the user had the same model and bios version installed. The bios settings are easy enough to change its not worth the confusion that could cause in my opinion.
Did you come up with the perfect USB fix for the NUC8? I thought I had it and made the mistake of allowing Win 10 to update the BIOS. I don't know if it was the update or the work I did but it put me out of business for awhile as far as my NUC8i7BEH HacMini Went... After many rebuilds, I am using it now but I am not sure if reboots will leave me crying or not. It rebooted and I am listening to bluetooth speaker music and all seems well. (I may have rebooted twice and still ticking.) but back to USBPorts.kext... Is that the USB fix that I might be needing if I haven't fixed it?? I tried to save it with the tools, but was not 100% sure that I had everything correct. I would like to get my hands on the fix since I don't have a copy of my work (except whatever is in the EFI folder) I am not real confident about the file it put in the folder, although I am typing on it. I will reboot tomorrow and see if it is working afterwards.

What model do you have again? If it’s an NUC8i5 then yes. Rule of thumb, save your boot drive and no windows update will be able to completely bork your install again. That and use OpenCore as your boot loader.

Any chance you know if the NUC10i3FNH will work with these EFI folders? I need a really basic computer.
The NUC10i7 and i5 do, its very likely the i3 does as well using the i5 EFi folder on page 90 here. If you want an absolute guarantee buy an NUC8 or wait for a different answer and/or search other forums.

If you want a promo, NUC10i7FNH is even lower than NUC8i7 right now on Amazon.de with a voucher :)

I have the NUC8i7BEH which is easy to build (using your EFI) except for the USB problem which may be solved for the NUC8i5 and i3s. I am in the process of doing a TM back up and will do a CCC backup next. Then I am going to shut it down and see if it will reboot. I couldn't figure out how to close CloverConfigurator or perhaps another tool that was used to do the EH changes so I unplugged it. That may have left something incomplete. We'll see. I appreciate your efforts on this board.

I wasn’t sure what you were saying in your last post but for your clarification your USB configuration would never cause the problems you are describing. Windows update can especially if you are sharing a drive and or using Clover...typically that is relatively easy to remedy.

Usb problems usually mean a port won’t work at all or at the right speed. That and sleep/ wake isn’t working is the other main symptom.

The intel bluetoothfirmware is included on kext section on page 90, works fine.
The wifi though, I believe it's a work in progress, still glitchy AFAIK.

ok thank you. Then I have a problem because my pc don't detect Bluetooth :(
