[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

That's a great news that your installer is newer than mine.

Cataline does NOT support 32 bit software and plugin anymore. If you plan to use any 32 bit plugin(VST or AU) in the future, forget about it. it won't work in Catalina

I use Luna Display device to setup my iPad as the 2nd monitor so I don't need to upgrade to Catalina for sidecar. Luna Display runs super low latency (almost smoothly) and it also allows me to change the resolution of iPad which sidecar can't do.
I am trying to cast my Hackintosh display to my MBP. Does anybody know if Luna USB-C version will work with my Thunderbolt port, or should I use the mini display version directly from my dGPU?

Just snagged one. Arrives tomorrow. I can rip the FW if no one else has done so before it arrives.
Yes please do extract and post the firmware. We'll use joevt's ThunderboltUtil to enable Thunderbolt Switch and calculate new CRC-32. This will be a good test of that utility.

Hi,

I'm currently running 10.15.3 and would like to update to 10.15.5
Is it safe to update directly from .3 to .5? Is there a post with special instructions?

I tried using the search, but I'm still getting HTTP 403 when searching within this thread
You'll be surprised to find what's inside the Quick Reference spoiler at the top of Post #1. This one in particular should be consulted:

I think I am almost done, thanks to this most-excellent guide! Here's what I have:
  • Designaire Z390
  • i9-9900K
  • Samsung M.2 1TB drive hosting Mojave 10.14.6 only.
  • 32GB DDR4 3600
  • AMD RX480 8GB (works natively, but I installed SSDT-Z390-Desinaire-RX580-V2.aml. Tried with and without, both cases seem to work fine). Old GPU, but I don't game or anything like that.
So far, everything including iServices works well, except my UBS microphones. The audio input can be distorted or even cause the recording application to crash. I've searched and searched, but no joy. Any ideas? Thanks!
Which USB ports are the microphones plugged into?
  • Black USB ports
  • Blue ports
  • Red ports
  • Yellow ports
Microphones are typically USB 2.0 devices so please try connecting them to one of the black ports to see if they're any more or less stable.

The USB-C version should work fine.

I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that. I've tried every USB port and two different USB mics. I confirmed it wasn't the mics by trying them on my Macbook Air.

I should have also mentioned (but forgot) that I would get an error message while booting with my AK5370 mic plugged in. My computer still booted, but it would pause with:

IOUSBHostDevice :getDescriptorGated: compliance violation: USB 2.0 9.3.5: device returned more than wLength data.

I tried unplugging the mic, booting, and then plugging it in, but it did not resolve the issue.

Interesting (not in a good way :)). The screenshot says "power supply unavailable". Please try this procedure from Post #1:
