[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

@kellymac12 @boob so - just looking at the previous posts, we all have Vega 56/64 cards (not that I'm suggesting it's video - but I did read somewhere of stopping the Vega from using the DP port as an audio output via boot arg and that stopped someones USB freezes. Plus we all have an iLok? I have had issues with mine lately, but I'm not sure if it's Catalina and the iLok app. UAD's LUNA as that messed a few things up iLok wise or if the USB issue is causing the iLok to behave weird??

@kellymac12 - checked our EFI and same apart from a couple of non-issue; bootpicker etc.
Yeah, before I changed my platform id I removed the kext, still had the freezes. But, my platform id was wrong, so maybe the two in tandem is what's stabilised it? I say stabilised, feel like one rogue gust of wind and it's back to the fun and games...

For what it's worth, I have a different board, but the same USB lockup issue and symptoms.

These lockups have happened multiple times on video calls and I can watch the video and continue to hear the calls go on, just can't interact with the Hack at all. Pushing the power button during that state brings up the expected dialog box, but I don't have a way to click anything... I'm using an Apple Magic Keyboard and Mouse and am assuming I lose connectivity because I lose the USB header on the Broadcom AirPort card.

Just for giggles I pulled my GC-Titan Ridge card and went a week without lockups. I reinstalled the GC-Titan Ridge card Sunday had a lockup in less than 24 hours.

Now what I found really interesting is the only USB device I had plugged in (before, during, and after the test) was a Logitech Brio webcam plugged into HS05, which along with the Bluetooth, should have been on the onboard USB controller, not the GC-Titan Ridge card.

I don't have an answer, and am not sure what to test next

Might be worth noting I have nothing in HS05 ,04, 03, or 06. Pretty sure when it was freezing I did. Not sure whether that's just coincidence.

Moving Logitech Brio to HS07 HS13 just to see what happens

The mapping is already done. If you're running Mojave, please see the Post Install Files at the end of Post #1. If you're on Catalina, see the zip file at the end of the Catalina Mini Guide. (Link to Catalina Mini Guide is at the top of Post #1 in the spoiler marked Quick Reference to Mini-Guides and Micro-Guides.)

Thank you. I am running OC 0.5.9 and Catalina 10.15.5, I found the OC guide, but it contains USBinjectall.kext which I am already using, so I am confused, does that mean my ports are mapped?

@boob @ziggenpuss I'd be up for disabling DisplayPort audio through the Vega. Did a quick Google and couldn't find an obvious boot argument to do so - did you already have something?

@boob @evlthoma @CaseySJ - if you think HS3/4/5/6 what might that point to? Casey, can you help us out, please?

I can't remember the boot arg, eventually I just removed the AppleGFXHDA.kext. Bit of a process on Catalina though, there were a few steps to keeping it gone.

** The end of Hackintosh as we know it **

Going to have to pick up a 14" MBP next year or so (if it finally comes to fruition) for bootcamp purposes. I noticed the WWDC event made no mention of bootcamp/windows, and anything to do with linux was more emulation rather than natively running it.

What happened to the rest of the posts?

Please do not quote the entire mini-guide. Post a link instead.
Hi,
I'm about to mount a Gigabyte TITAN RIDGE add on card on my ASUS WS SAGE/10G and I'm wondering if this guide is the right one to flash my card? Should I use Raspberry Pi 4 or a flash programmer? Tx a lot
