The 4K Dell OptiMac - 9020 MT - Core i7-4790 - Radeon RX 570 - LG 4K IPS Monitor

Very belt and braces. - The kext are easy to roll back and Ive yet to find a reason to change Clover versions, Im sure there are for some machines or setups but not here I think.

Yeah, I know - I might dial it back a bit once I get more comfortable with Hackintosh (which translates into experiencing more near-misses and getting myself out of trouble again :p) but for now, I feel that I need the safety net.

Thank you for the insight in Clover. I will start dabbling with upgrading a kext or two.

Only attempt this after you've made a bootable backup that you've tested working. You might want to test out FileVault from a USB flash drive with Clover on it first before making the changes below on your SSDs efi partition.

You will need specific drivers in /EFI/CLOVER/drivers/UEFI/

They are: ApfsDriverLoader.efi - AppleGenericInput.efi - AppleUiSupport.efi - HFSPlus.efi - OpenRuntime.efi and VirtualSmc.efi

You will already have some of these in drivers/UEFI

Find the others here: https://github.com/acidanthera/AppleSupportPkg/releases/tag/2.0.9

Use version 2.0.9 and not newer or older versions.

I got it working. It works perfectly fine.

Thank you so much trs. I’ve had a couple 9020 usff i5’s for networking stuff and decided to retire one in to my everyday use Mac thanks to this guide.
After some use I’ve decided I want to try handoff. I have an sff with an i7. Could I just move the drive into the sff without problems or would a fresh install be a good idea?

You can try to move the drive. Make sure to set up the BIOS first in the SFF you're transferring to. Also check inside the side panel of the SFF to see what AMT is set to. Should look like this:

If it's a 3 or a 6 then integrated graphics won't work well.

Thanks for forcing me to check. I glossed over that thinking whatever, the computer will work but there it is. A number 3. Guess I'm not trying handoff. Perhaps I'll look into buying another but it's not really that important since the usff works so well.

Does the rx 570 need any installation? And as it has only one hdmi cable do the dvi to hdmi cable work?

I dont use the RX570 for this build, that is for my main build (which isnt a OptiPlex). See my signature.

I'm confused by this and another post which stated: "If you see the number 3 and ME Disabled or 6 & ME Lockout it has been factory disabled..."
Sorry for jumping straight in and asking for advice with my first post but everyone here seems really helpful so hopefully it's okay.
I'm looking at a SFF 9020 and the listing on ebay includes the statement: "BIOS: No BIOS Password (Guaranteed NOT Locked)"
Does this mean I should be okay because I really don't want, with my first hackintosh, too many extra steps to have working integrated graphics.
Many thanks, Martin.
