Does anyone know what happened to the post detailing the 2TB NVME upgrade? It was here a few days ago. I should have takes a screenshot :banghead: Or at least what hard drive was used? I was hoping to upgrade the stock drive to a 2TB. Since the stock Samsung doesn't work I'm using a spare 500gb which just isn't enough for me. I don't see any lists with 2TB drives that are compatible.

hi everyone, i have this problem, please, help me.

SYNTAx error unexpected parseop SCOPE expecting $end and premature end-of-file

This is my first post on the forums. To start, I would like to give thanks for this guide!

With that said, I do realize this is a Mojave Laptop Guide, but, this is the reference used for setting up Catalina 10.15.5 on my Lenovo c930. With Clover 5119 I was unable to get f4 to dump dsdt, in turn, I used my USB Installer with an older version of Clover to obtain the original ACPI files which was then carried over to the C930 internal drive's EFI. I used iMarty's complete 'patched' folder with the exception of the dsdt original files patched via SSDTTIME. I could not get the kext in /L/E as 'kextcache -I' reported errors for all copied kext within which would then not allow me to boot. Currently all my Kernel EXTensions are located in /EFI/Clover/kext/other. If I plug a HDMI adaptor into a USB-C connected hub, the system reboots without warning. After installing Whatevergreen.kext I lost the ability to 'scale' in settings from 4k to 1080 where the UI is set to 1080 as reported by 'About Mac'. Everything seemed to have went fine, although, the major downfall in this install being sound not working. Closing, the only part in tutorial am lost on in the guides is when they reference compiling the dsl/aml code with snippets of code. I don't know what to do with that(?), so, I skipped over it. Could that be why I have sound problems?

Closing, if one could help me work sound out it would be appreciated. I found this guide useful for getting 10.15.5 up and running where I own a legitmit copy of Final Cut which for editing my kid's YouTube videos. Currently I have my Roland VR-4HD hooked to usb so I can use that device's sound card allowing me to Edit in FCP with sound. Although, it would be awesome to have the internal speakers working. Again thanks for your time everyone, I look forward to reading some replies

Hello !

I can't really answer you about the Catalina update. My C930 is stile with Mojave as I need 32bit compability of some of my apps/devices. But thanks for your feedback !
For the 4k scaling, their is a key-combo to press to access advance display settings :

About the sound, I achieved recently an update on the latest Apple ALC/HDA kext (instead of the recommended 1.3.4) and using the usual profil (3). If you really want to have a full sound support we need to ask "gently" for a profil to the Apple HDA patching team. My try didn't end up beeing successfull, maybe your's will be ?

Have fun :)

Does anyone have a working backlight control DSDT? I'm trying to patch iMarty's EFI config but I'm getting some errors...

E: fixed, I used Karbiner

– audio over USB-C (is that HDMI audio? in any case it doesn't work, but I don't care)

HI, i would like to enquire a little about this as i produce music..
So, what doesn't work like if i'll connect my audio interface for recording through mic...through usb C then will it work or not?

Or you're saying that,
If i connect a usb C headphone to the port, then no audio will come out of it.

Or, in case this issue has been fixed? :p since, it has been a long time

I wish to buy a c940, i think ports wouldn't have changed in a way, i cannot consider them to work.

Thanks alot.

This is a C930 topic, C940 is different and you will not be able to just throw the config files and hope for the best.
Do your research and be ready to invest time into fixing issues.
