Updated from Catalina 10.15.4 right to 10.15.5 without any problems..
1. Updated Clover Configurator to ver. 5.14.0.0
2. Update Lilu, WhatEverGreen and AppleALC, placing them in your /EFI/.../Clover/kexts/other/.
3. Updated to 10.15.5 from App Store.
4. Choose download and restart option.
5. The 1st boot stated 40min to complete.
6. After 15 - 20 mins the 2nd boot stated 15mins to complete.
7. After 13 - 15 mins the 3rd booted quickly into 10.15.5...

NOTE: Boots 1 and 2 need to boot from the correct disk ( Install ) after each restart.
Used Clover r5107 with no issues.

After first applying the 10.15.5.02 supplemental update, Catalina booted to a single display on my HP EliteDesk 800 G4 Mini (additional displays did not work). After a few reboots, displays are back to normal.

Clover 5118, no updates to KEXTs or anything else. Upgrade from 10.15.4 to 10.15.5 via system preferences.
Two automatic reboots. 40 min installation, no issues observed.

I can't update... it restarts. but boots back to Mac OS

To anyone on the edge of the pool, waiting for other's reaction to the update: jump right in! The water's warm!

After the download, I think it was about 15-20 min. From the start of the process after the download, there is a minute warning that it will restart. It restarts into the update process. There is another restart that brings you into the Clover bootloader, and you go into the preboot. Then finally another restart, and you go into the filevault.

There is a wildly inaccurate countdown timer, that ticks down minute by every 2 minutes (it seems), but it eventually gets there. 15-20 min of sheer terror, but I emerged on the other side. I did another restart just to make sure it boots into my system drive.

Heed all the warnings in the original post. Backup using CCC, make sure all your kexts are in your EFI and are up to date.
i think this is where my problem is ...Clover is defaulting always to boot to Catalina and not moving the boot targets around ... is this a bug ? is there a fix?

Update using the combo update available at the begin of this thread which should update you to 10.15.5 and also the 10.15.5 supplemental (19F101). Try running the combo update in the Safe mode. Because you may have other issues which you can chase down with Hackintool. Backup your current system first!
