I have enjoyed (and contributed as good as I can) to this awesome site - tonymacx86.com was a game-changer for me in regards to Hackintosh.

I am not really into the "scene" of who is what and why in and around hackintoshing, but OpenCore for sure gets a lot of attention these days. Personally I just successfully clean installed OpenCore 0.5.8 and I am very happy with it.

What I am thinking about is

- is tonymacx86.com just as happy with OpenCore developments as "the general public"?
- Or is OpenCore seen as a "competitor" or another "religion"
- Is it similar awesome tech-nerds on either side having a healthy competition?
- Is there no either side - bit just different angles to the same purpose?

I wanted to post how I succeeded in getting my build running well with OpenCore on this forum - but the above made me think whether I should leave it...

OpenCore is developed by the same team that built Clover, there is no competition.
At some time in the future Clover will be replaced by OpenCore.

Currently OpenCore is in the beta testing phase, expect more support as it progresses.

Best reply  I could have wanted.

I will consider adding my 2 cents on my OpenCore experience...and add it to the guide section.

Thanks!

I believe the Clover and OpenCore teams are comprised of different devs.

Clover team lists apianti, blackosx, blusseau, and slice2009:

As far as I know, OpenCore was an abandoned project picked up by vit9696 and Download-Fritz:

My bad then. I understood that there was some overlap of devs for both and that the driving force was essentially the same.
