[Guide] Lenovo Legion y530-y540 Laptop on Catalina 10.15

Has anyone been able to use an external monitor using some usb-c adapter or is it just impossible?
It doesn't work. Already tried with three different adapters. USB-C video output uses Displayport-alt mode which is connected to the unsupported Nvidia GPU.

Only way to get a signal on external monitor with Lenovo Legion Y530/Y530 in macOS is to use an eGPU connected to NVMe socket via an NVMe to PCIe adapter like the ADT-Link R43SG but then since there's only one NVMe socket you're s then stuck with using a SATA drive for storage.

Yes, my EFI provides related patches.

Hey, used the Nvme hotpatch and all works great only a couple of questions.

Firstly, even after running script and copying setleds numpad won't work , also running the script on Mojave made MacOs hang couple of times .

More importantly, I have been going through OC documentation and saw your efi too and it seems like it uses patches in both OS ( windows and macOS) and then runs windows like in bootcamp ? Also for laptops ( even in your config ) EC0 to EC for example doesn't check OS but OC will still do that in windows I think ? in which case do you think dual boot users like me should stick to Clover or is there a way to use some kind of fork in OC ? Or just use OC and then use an efi tool like rEFInd , what do you recommend for dual boot ?

Thanks

Using dnvme hotpatch, the nvme itself gets pretty hot in macos, but stays cool in windows

I managed to get it working! Running perfectly so far using OpenCore, almost feel like a real Mac.

I'm also using this kext for WiFi functionality
Works great! It just doesnt have a interface for connection yet, so you have to edit the plist file with your ssid and password. But at least I dont have to replace the card yet.. I'll wait and see next week if Apple will try to kill hackintoshes altogether

Also, my trackpad is the ELAN model, there's just no way to get tree fingers gestures working?

Unfortunately MacOS is incompatible with this particular SSD model, even on real macs. I sugest you to buy another SSD to replace this HDD and install hackintosh in it.
