updated AppleALC.kext to version 1.50 (released yesterday) and upon reboot no sound and no audio controls. Backed it out and put in 1.49. Everything working fine. Wanted to check if there is someplace where I might want to post my experience to help developers?
Github, no?

Github, no?
That was my first thought - but the guide for the issues list said to only use that if you had solutions or code updates....for everything else use the "support forum"...did not see one. There is an AppleALC forum on insanely Mac, but I was not sure that was the best place, so just hoping for a little guidance :)

Hi,

@cheetoh, @fissben, @Fleshgear, @TheWiggler, @Yoku - I read all the posts in this thread and I found you posted something related to Thunderbolt eGPU, which I am having problem with. However, I don't find someone posted a confirmed solution. (fisbben reported working with GTX1080 but I don't find how it was done)

I tried the followings
- set TB3 to legacy in BIOS
- plug in eGPU before booting

My NUC8i5BEH BIOS is v073, Mojave 10.14.6, eGPU chassis razer core x, RX580. Only seeing Iris 655 in system report, and notice Thunderbolt section says "No drivers are loaded". I read some posts that the "No drivers are loaded" message is expected but devices attached to TB3 still works. I confirm my eGPU razer core x and rx580 working with my iMac and my MBP.

Any idea is appreciated.

Hello,

thanks a lot to everyone on this forum, especially to RehabMan, Cric and Leesureone - oh and the guy from DHL who misread the address on Saturday so that my NUC8i5BEH2 arrived only today instead of on the weekend. He forced me to do some more reading to ease the anticipation and I found post #430 (which by the way is #428 for some reason...).

I had the smoothest hackintosh install ever and am so just using my new HTPC which installed within 20 minutes after powering on.
So far everything I tested is working including the Type C port on USB 3.1 Gen.2 speed. I don't know about Thunderbolt as I have no such device yet.

I created a Catalina boot stick as described in post one, copied the EFI folder from post 428/430 and made the necessary BIOS settings (V073). And then I was waiting for some error or hiccup but everything went through without any problem.

I have just one question: I seem to remember to have read it would not be possible to watch ATV+ content. Does this only include the streaming service or also movies and series purchased via iTunes? Because so far I was able to watch my content in the ATV app.

Best regards

Hi again,

maybe it´s old news to this forum but I just found in another forum that the integrated Bluetooth is working. In that forum it was said that the bluetooth had to be activated by pairing a device with it under Windows. Once this has been done, it will find devices and connect them under macOS as well.
Since I didn´t want to install Windows I just created a linux lifestick (used Ubuntu), booted from the stick and paired my mobile phone. I then shut down Linux, ejected the usb stick and booted into Catalina. Opened system settings, went to bluetooth, connected my XBOX One controller and just now my kids play Spongebob via Apple Arcade... :)

Bye

Has anyone gotten Mojave to work with BIOS 081 ? Seems as if this new version prevents all the previous installation methods from working properly. Leesureone, you still out there? Anyone with info on 81, please share, thank you.

Hey it's me again. I don't know if anyone will see this but I'm having another issue with Catalina 15.4 and above. Before my hack was perfect and stable. But now I can't boot without emuvariableuefi.efi for some reason. before it was all fine but now if I boot on the latest clover AptioMemoryFix.efi cant allocate memory (gives me an error) and if I boot without emuvariableuefi it boots but it's very unstable with random freezing and all. Previously I was using the EFI folder on post #430 but I changed it a bit due to the errors. Ill upload an attachment for you guys to look at... soon.

Changes in the OS... see if this EFI folder works for you. There are newer memory drivers that should also work but its been so long since I used it as a boot loader I can't exactly remember which. OsxAptioFixDrv.efi is what I think is what I was using.
