[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

That was fast! Is that a supplemental update?

Replacement Supplemental I believe, for some reason I can't get in to check it out or download it.

Last weeks 10.15.5 has been removed from the App Store as well by the looks of it. I'm having trouble all over Apple's site atm.

Plenty of other people are using it with the update. Whether it is worth it is up to you but a lot of users say that it boosts benchmarking apps but in the real world apps it does very little, if anything, to speed things up. Some users have reported that it actually slows things down in real apps.

It is up to you to try with and without it and see if it actually makes any difference to you. Only you can decide.

Additional information: What does the radeonboost.kext actually do?
The kext unlocks the SMU firmware of the installed graphics card, which is restricted or not properly supported by Apple.
I think to get the temperature development under control, the full possible boost is cut.
Or have you ever heard a loud Apple Macintosh?

I've been running Davinci Resolve quite a bit and my card is barely audiable. Although I do not do long renders.

Nope, I've never heard a real Mac with a Navi card in it.

Hi Casey,

While i'm here :) Is it worth replacing the config.AMD-GPU.plist in the EFI with your latest from 10.15.4 fresh install?
Not necessary. It the system is booting now it's best to (a) make a backup, (b) make a backup, (c) make a backup, (d) make a backup, (e) make a backup. :)

1.59GB Supplemental update, available via Software Update.

Edit:- 1.59GB on my real MacBook but only 1.2GB on my Hacks.

I just installed the supplemental update for macOS 10.15.5. It went smoothly. However, I have previously updated all kexts to the latest version (AlppleALC, Lilu and VirtualSMC).
Thanks for the update notice.

Hello CaseySJ. I follow your method, the USB drive can not start. I only replaced the three files OcQuirks, OcQuirks.plist and FwRuntimeServices with the original OsxAptioFix2Drv-free2000.efi to start successfully. But my current system 10.14.6 is able to use your May 2020 Update-Catalina 10.15.4 Fresh Install file package, for this I am very confused, looking forward to your answer
