will wi-fi features work out of box?

No idea about the WiFi as I do not use it.

Why do you use ECC RAM when your motherboard does not support it? Just use normal DDR4 RAM which should be much cheaper.

Replace the RAM with normal DDR4 RAM and your system should be compatible with MacOS Catalina.
