Gigabyte Z390 motherboards will need to unlock MSR to use AptioMemoryFix, OcQuirks, or OsxAptioFix3Drv.

Huh. Thanks, that actually worked. It didn't stall and give me a exit BS error. I'm in the process of installing catalina on another AFPS container and I'll report back to see if it works.

Well I got the whole install to work, so the msr comfig does solve that problem. I just have a new seperate problem of booting to a black screen

Most Gigabyte Z390 motherboards will need IGPU ports patched. Please see the following:

You may need to unlock MSR. Please see my Z390 thread (link is below in my signature), posts #1, 3, and 4.

I have the exact same problem!! Everytime i choose instal mac os catalina from usb. The usb port always turned off and go to EB]#LOG:EXITBS:START]

Is this something to do with msr too??
I use a laptop
Acer aspire E17-771G
Insydeh20 bios

I don't know about your laptop. Trying to hack a laptop is completely different. I suggest checking the laptop sub-forum.

Have you made any progress? I'm currently running into the same problem.

same problems, but after restarted sometime it work, sometime not. Dont understand

Hey, so I fixed both of those issues. Now the boot says this and it just gets stuck.

It is generally due to a mismatch in the versions of clover being used... the clover version of the boot loader may not match the one in the efi folder and hence the problem. Try an EFI with the same version of clover and it should work!
