the inverter is part of the display and I am trying to turn my iMac 24’ into a monitor and I bought the LVDS controller board and i’m using the original imac power supply to power it by the 12V connector spliced to a DC jack but I can’t figure out how to power the inverter which takes 24V. I tried splicing the 4 red cables and 4 black cables to the 24V cable and a ground cable but it still won’t work. Here is what I have, please help

here’s a video of everything

Can't you use the iMac's original power supply? On the 2008 24" it's a dedicated 24V connector, separate from the 12V supply to the logic board -- presumably you disconnected it to get the panel out and just need to reconnect it?

The original connector from the inverter goes to the motherboard not the psu here, thats y i can’t

If you're using the iMac's original power supply you should have both logic board (12V) and display inverter (24V) output supplies available. Presumably you're also using the original iMac display, so you can leave the original 24V supply connected for power (see photo), and for signal just replace the original LVDS video connection from the iMac's logic board with the LVDS connection from your new controller. If your new controller has a 24V inverter output, just leave it unconnected as you don't need it.
