[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Came across this thread and it jumped my Geekbench graphics scores significantly on my 5700xt. Take a look at this this post: https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/amd-radeon-navi-gpu.264399/post-2103382

Here are my benchmarks before and after installing the supplied SSDT and removing WhateverGreen.kext. iGPU is disabled as well:

This is a Geekbench 4 score vs CaseySJ's Geekbench 5. The results can't be compared do to a new number and evaluation schema.

True, those are GeekBench 4.4.1 results, but relative increase is significant: From 153276 to 221156. This is a 44% increase!

Whenever you're ready, you may upload as follows:
  • Mount EFI partition of USB flash disk. I assume you're first creating a working EFI folder on USB flash disk (according to instructions in Mojave-to-Catalina Upgrade guide).
  • Open the EFI partition in Finder. You will see an EFI folder.
  • Right-click on the EFI folder and choose Compress EFI.

  • This will create a ZIP file. Then simply attach that file to your post. When you create a new post or edit an existing post, you will see Attach files button in your web browser:

There's an MSR EFI left from Step 2. "Unlock MSR 0xE2
I cannot isolate to a single " EFI" folder from that and I cannot compress the "MSR EFI" by right clicking..sorry.

I just deleted a few kexts from Step 3 and now am scratching my head trying to find " Kext Utility" to rebuild the Kernel cache.

Of important request: I have 7 usb 3.0 drives yet only one usb 2.0 which has the Unlock MSR 0xE2 on it.
do you know a quick way to inject a usb 3.0 so I can use it in steep 6-7? You are correct Casey, I am using the Mojave to Catalina guide

I read something on ****** about using Terminal : Pseudo kextcache -i /
Anybody use this method successfully ?

Sorry but I thought about Clover and quickly found a way Casey :

I've attached it below.

For Steps 6 and 7 any USB 2 or USB 3 flash disk will work. Even a small 2GB USB flash disk will be okay.

Yes this will also work: sudo kextcache -i /

When I was using the Gigabyte Gaming 7 (Z370) I couldn't get any 3.0 USB ports to work, so I thought no flash drives will be accepted/registered. I finally got one Samsung to be recognized out of 6 odd SanDisk's, Corsair, Kingstons. lol

If I receive a Kernal Cache ID: 5C2A .............38 numbers after, is this a win? Since one post instructed the user to await a done on the lower right of the Page o_O

Seems like I lost my LAN/Internet connection after the Terminal kext config.
I have a windows desktop beside me. Is there a way to download Intel Mausi to revive my port, or a work around?
Thank you so much and please tell me how to donate to the forum/support ?

That file does not contain a CLOVER folder.

Because you're following the Mojave-to-Catalina upgrade guide, all kexts are located in the ZIP file attached to the Catalina Mini-Guide. You're always welcome to contribute to the site by clicking the Contribute button at the very top left of the web page.
