[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

That was quick! Good job. Let's do this:
  • Mount EFI partition of the macOS SSD and copy the SMBIOS and RtVariables sections from existing config.plist into the config.plist of USB flash disk. Probably the easiest way to do this is with ProperTree or a text editor like BBEdit. This will ensure that existing serial numbers are preserved.
  • Then reboot again with USB flash disk (by pressing F12 at BIOS splash screen) to confirm that everything is still okay.
  • Now shutdown, flip power switch on PSU back to OFF.
  • Reinstall the AMD GPU.
  • Connect monitor to AMD GPU (disconnect it from on-board HDMI).
  • Power on the system.
  • Press F12 again at BIOS splash screen and choose USB disk.
  • At Clover Boot Menu, boot macOS normally again.
  • Does it boot?
Thank you! Just finished, it boots without any issue!

The only difference I saw in the first place is that I need tot sign in again with my iCloud account.

I double checked the serial number to see if it is preserved and if it matched the one from my iCloud acccount and it is the same.

Now we can (a) rename or backup the old EFI folder in the EFI partition of macOS SSD and then (b) copy the entire EFI folder from EFI partition of USB flash disk to the macOS SSD.

Then keep the USB flash disk safe for future emergencies.

Also good to make a full bootable backup once everything checks out.

Thanks a lot for your help! I actually Have a Full Bootable backup before the Kernel Panics. I will update its EFI folder with the new one.

I replaced the EFI folder on the macOS SSD and it boots fine! Hopefully no more Kernel Panics. :D

What this did is actually booting with the internal graphics and switching to the XFX RX580 once the boot process is finished?

This actually cleans up the EFI/CLOVER folder and config.plist. You can change the IGPU back to headless mode by following the Hackintool screenshots here:

I tried to realign the antennas, and indeed it worked. I could connect again. But right now with a wrong country code which is set to X3 or so. And after reboot, I cant connect again. So strange...Not many 2.4GHz SSID's around. I tried as well in Windows, the same issue there as well, no 2.4GHz connection only 5GHz...mmmh...So is probably my T919 broken? Or could that be really a network interfering issue?

I have Sidecar operate on my Zenbook laptop (SMBIOS set to MacBookPro15,1 that include T2 Chip) with my iPad Air 2 (iPad5,3). I only have to connect it with USB/lightning cable, for now, no wireless connection is possible.. on my case.

Connecting via USB does not work for me, unfortunately.

Does this mean you can enable Sidecar in System Preferences --> Sidecar, choose your iPad from the pop-up menu, but iPad screen stays black?

Exactly. Last time it worked was before I switched to iMacPro

I'll leave it as it is ff it doesn't affect the performance for rendering.

Thank you for your help!

How can we solve this situation

Hi @CaseySJ and others
thanks for your hard work regarding Thunderbolt 3!

I have a Gigabyte GC Alpine Ridge PCIe card (REV 1.0) and tried to get it working using the patched firmware today but the card doesn't work at all - with either V1 or V2.

IOreg doesn't show anything anymore. System profiler status is "no hardware found".

Mainboard: GA-H170-HD3, Cable between card and Mainboard is connected.
Thunderbolt devices: Razor Core X

Any ideas? I attached a backup of the original firmware in case it helps to sort things out.
