Hello,

As stated in the title, I want to hackintosh a 10th gen intel laptop. Is this possible?

The specs:

HP Notebook 15-dy1751ms (Specs on HP website)
10th gen i5-1035G1
8GB RAM
Intel Optane 660p NVME drive
Intel UHD Graphics (Model unknown)
Wifi: Realtek RTL8821CE (But support for WiFi is not needed)

Thanks in advance! If you need anything else feel free to let me know.

I heard that the latest beta of 10.15.5 Beta 1 supports Ice Lake processors. Hopefyully someone can validate that.

I have a HP 15s-fq1xxx with i5-1035G4. Catalina installs & boots fine with clover however there's no graphics acceleration. AFAIK nobody has gotten Icelake GPUs working properly.

Post your EFI please. You are the first one who got the installer to run on Ice Lake afaik.

Sure, no problem. Funnily enough this EFI is a modified version of your HP Envy 13 folder (Thanks btw!). I used that as a starting point as there was very little information at the time regarding 10th gen hacks.

I'm thinking it would be a good idea to have a single thread dedicated to ice lake issues, info etc. Shall we make this it?

Just gonna leave this here in case someone finds it useful, discusses issues relating to ICL graphics:

@1alessandro1 we do not have needs in ICL, that's pretty much it. Are you really insane to think we are looking for more work for nothing? Pretty much nobody here cares about the hardware we do not have. Especially when it needs extra work that has little benefits. That's basically why stuff like Z390, AMD, or this ICL gets so little love.

Woah, guess we wont see much interest from that side.

@noodles79 Thanks, not working here which is really weird. Gonna try OCQuirks with your efi later, currently hangs at + signs.

Yeah, doesn't look like it! Still the platform-ids and macbookair9,1 smbios might be helpful down the line.

Some things that may or may not be pertinent:

  • if I remove the fake intelGFX id from the config above I get a memory panic.
  • Mac OS version 10.15.4 (19E266)
  • System info reports my CPU as a Quad core Xeon 1.5ghz. GPU is correctly reported (sans acceleration)
  • I have AHCIPortInjector.kext in my kext folder, can't boot without it (panic). Maybe try disabling this?
  • When installing I had OsxAptioFixDrv.efi in place. Doesn't seem to make any difference this end though
  • OCQuirks, without any changes to the plist, works fine

Thanks for sharing your EFI. I was able to try booting my HP 14-DQ1033CL (with 1035g4) on it.

I modified the config.plist and the kexts a bit, and I've made it as far as the installation prompt but then the installer complains about not being connected to the internet. Since I have no working trackpad and a USB mouse to run in addition to the USB boot drive, I have zero of the two usb 3 ports left and no room for my usb wifi dongle. Fortunately I have a compatible m.2 wifi/bt card to physically install and will report back later.

I can share that I was able to update to Macbook 9,1 SMB data and then change the fake intelGFX id and ig-platform-id to 0x8A5A0009, which should be correct for the Ice Lake GPU (your config.plist was using the identifier for the Kaby Lake Intel 610HD). Booted fine into the graphical installer with this string, and the correct id might help you enable metal in a working installation...

Note that I was not able to remove those fake identifiers and other injected GPU fixes/patches and then get Lilu and Whatevergreen to id the graphics card properly as per manual, not even with the appropriate device properties set and/or with adding the boot flag of lilucpu=12 (for 10th gen chips). Like you, it gave a kernel panic. Not sure why yet.

Can you post your EFI here? Thank you.

I have an HP zhan 66 G3 with i5-10210U (10th gen), Maybe the same as HP ProBook 440 G7.

I can't install 10.15.4 (catalina), and your EFI may work.

BTW, please talk about the BIOS, what items have you changed? I cannot find "CFG lock" or "MSR 0xE2"

Thanks.
