Audio is still working under Voodoo 2.9.2 after shutting down Windows 7 Pro and then doing a cold boot.

If you are using Windows 8.1/10, do you have fast startup enabled? Sometimes that can cause issues since it sets things into something similar to a hibernate mode instead of a complete shutdown. Just a thought since I am using Windows 7 and it does not have that feature.

no fast boot, just regular startup. but yes, Windows 10

Hi again Malki,

There's still no hope of these Nvidia drivers being sorted, so I'm thinking of getting an AMD gpu, starting to run into problems not having Mojave now. How easy would it be for me to adapt this guide to use an AMD instead? Before I just followed your guide to the t, and it's worked perfectly since. Bit worried if I start farting about without really knowing what I'm doing to get the AMD in there, I'll end up in paperweight territory. Any tips as to where I should alter the guide?

It shouldn't be a problem to just swap out the graphics card. I think I'd probably start with that, that way if it doesn't boot you can just put your nvidia card back in. I believe AMD gpu's most of them are natively supported so it should be plug and play. Just stick to the buyers guide on tonymacx86 to be sure, and if it works you can sell your nvidia card on ebay or something.

@malki if your thunderbolt isn't working try updating the firmware. Download it from Gigabyte's site.

thanks. I don't have a thunderbolt card in here, that is someone else. I was never able to find one for this board they were sold out and now they aren't in production

Thanks Malki. Annoyingly just realised today that the GT740 I've got is still supported natively :banghead:
Going to wait for Catalina I think, but looks like it should work.

Thread about GT740 is https://www.tonymacx86.com/threads/success-mojave-x99-ud4-i7-5820k-gt-740-so-far-so-good.277039/

Thanks for this! It got my audio working. FINALLY!

I am stuck at 10.13.3 - I am not able to upgrade to 10.13.6 and am not even sure you can run Mojave or Catalina on an Asus Rampage V X99, but I can live with this I guess
