URGENT: To install Catalina 10.15.4 or newer, please follow the new mini-guide here.

Thanks @CaseySJ for such a comprehensive build share.
I'm hoping you could help me as I'm stuck at the Boot macOS Install from Install macOS Catalina. Images of my verbose attached. Any thoughts?

That's much better. Each LG 5K is driven by a different GPU. Your VideoProc screenshot shows that the Intel UHD 630 is being prioritized over the AMD GPU. When multiple GPUs are present, some apps will choose the one that is alphabetically first. Because "Intel UHD 630..." is alphabetically ahead of "Radeon ..." it means VideoProc and possibly Fortnite will select the Intel chip. We can rename these devices easily. Just go to Clover Configurator --> Devices --> Properties, select the 3rd item in the "Devices" box and on the right side you will see various properties. Change the existing AAPL,model field to something else such as UHD 630. That will bring Radeon... in front of UHD 630. It's also possible to rename the Radeon to something like AMD Radeon...

Have you seen (and clicked) on these 2 links from Post #1:

The reason both LG monitors cannot be driven by the AMD GPU is because Designare Z390 has only one DP-In port. The GC-Titan Ridge has two DP-In ports so it can do something even more amazing:
  • To get true 5K resolution on the LG UltraFine 5K, we actually need to send two DisplayPort streams to two DP-In Ports and then connect only one Thunderbolt port to the LG 5K.
  • If we use a single DP-In, we'll get a native frame buffer resolution of 4096x2304.
  • If we use two DP-In connections, we'll get full native frame buffer resolution of 5120x2880.
  • We do not need THB_C header. We just need to tie pins 3 and 5 of the J1 header on GC-Titan Ridge. We can use a single female/female jumper wire such as this one.

Hi @CaseySJ. Hope you're doing well and that your internet issues resolve soon!

I'll try out that workaround for the UltraFine 5K. I couldn't find much information on MemoryAllocation.efi, should that be used if I'm using FwRuntimeServices/OcQuirks?

I got hold of a GC Titan Ridge card, flashed it with the modified firmware, installed it in the second (middle) long slot of the board, and added the SSDT (with the patched DROM). I shorted pins 3 and 5 like you said, and connected the USB 2.0 header to the motherboard (via a splitter). I now have both displays using the Vega 64 through the GC Titan Ridge! Amazing :)

I noticed that both thunderbolt controllers show up with the same bus ID in the Thunderbolt Device Tree, and the Titan Ridge isn't using the UUID that I specified in the SSDT's ThunderboltDROM section. I'm using both of the SSDTs from the microguides, modified to have 1) the same UID, 2) different bus IDs (0 for Designare, 2 for GC Titan Ridge), 3) updated checksum for the UID and bus IDs. I think I might need to use different UIDs for the controllers and/or change the GC Titan Ridge SSDT to not use RP05?

Edit: I forgot to attach screenshots

Anyone having networking issues on this build? Ive all of a sudden encountered strange issue.

-I use a Chelsin t4 10gbe NIC in a akitio node. It’s never been an issue. All of a sudden, connecting to SMB shares is consistently causing finder to freeze.

Additionally, I’ve got 4 freeNAS servers and 2 unraid servers. Ive never had issues connecting to the web UI of these servers, but randomly have the issues now. No issues connecting to websites, but issues on LAN. i can connect to one server web interface, of one of my freeNAS servers, one ui loads halfway, the other 2 won’t connect, and neither of the unraid UI will connect. Ive tried safari, chrome, Firefox, and min... same issue.

its not an issue with the thunderbolt NIC or LAN. If I plug the thunderbolt NIC into my MacBook Pro, it works without issue. No SMB issues, no issues connecting to the server web UI. Until last week, I had no SMB connection issues. Until this week, I had no issues connecting to the servers UI.

ive made zero changes.

any ideas? I don’t even know how to troubleshoot this one.

No that seems okay, here in OZ I'm only paying AU$10/pcm (US$6) for unlimited local Australian mobile calls/texts and 1GB data. Which is a good deal.
Suddenly my $12/month doesn't seem so cheap anymore! You're paying 50% less, I'm paying 100% more.

@CaseySJ @scottkendall et al.
Stupid question but how are you counting the pins on the TB header? which side is 1 and which is 5? i dont see the usual white markings to indicate.

Thanks!
g\
When holding the card vertically with the PCIe pins pointing down to the ground, pin 1 is at the bottom and pin 5 is at the top.
