[Success] GIGABYTE Z370 Gaming 7 + Intel Core i7-8700K + RX 580 + (2x) Dell P2715Q 4k @ 60Hz

So, guys. I made a clean install to our motherboard to Catalina 10.15.0. I've changed the SMBIOS to 19.2 which is closier to 8700K.
  • AirPlay
  • Continuity
  • AirDrop

When the installation completed, I installed all the necessary kexts with KextBeast to /Library/Extensions/ and the Clover bootloader to the main NVMe SSD. That was it.

Hi, I have just finished a new clean installation of Catalina 10.15.4 starting from scratch. Everything works but I would like to set the SMBIOS configuration to 19.2. What should I do? Currently in my SMBIOS is reported imac 14.2 which is the same that I see in "information on this Mac". With version 14.2 I can't get AirPlay.

Use MultiBeast for Catalina, selecting only:
System Definitions > iMac > iMac 19.2
Build > to check that you've selected the desired System Definition
Install
When MultiBeast has completed, reboot.

That's all you need to do.

So should I go back to using MultiBeast? Can't I do it with Clover Configuration? Thanks

You might be able to use Clover Configurator. I don't use it. MultiBeast is so easy to use. Why use CC? CC takes more steps IIRC.

Hi, I have Mojave installed on:
Z370 Gaming 5
i7-8700
Sapphire RX 580 Pulse

I would like to have a clean installation of Catalina.
What steps I have to do?

Thanks for the information.
I used Clover Configuration and everything went well!
My hope was to have a 19.2 iMac to have the Sidecar function with my iPad pro.
But, this didn't happen. Even if the item for Airplay is checked in the "monitor" window of settings, no sharing icon appears, and I cannot share the screen with my iPad.
I have also established a Bluetooth connection between hMac and iPad but nothing....

Did I miss a few steps?

Another question. Is there a utility that can check if my USB ports are actually 2.0 or 3.0?

Thanks.

Don't know solution with you problem with Sidecar. I'm not using Catalina. Did you try to connect the hMac and iPad with a USB to iPad connector (charge cable)?

BTW, I've been using Duet when I was using my hMac and iPad. But, I out grew it. :D I now have a Dell 27" 4K monitor.

Duet is a good alternative!!! ;-)

Yes, with the cable I can enable Airplay but on my ipad Pro only a black screen!

Thanks!

Because i try to install 10.15.4 to a beta ssd that i have, i couldn't proceed the installation. Stuck apple logo.

The method for me is to download 10.15.4 to application folder. After that open terminal and give

sudo /Applications/Install\ macOS\ Catalina.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Untitled

Where Untitled put the name of your usb.

It will take about 15 to 20 minutes to complete it.

Then we have to install clover bootloader 5107 to the usb, we can found it here https://github.com/CloverHackyColor/CloverBootloader/releases/tag/5107

We have to change the install location to our usb and same settings as shown above.

When the installation completes you should have an EFI partition mounted.

Download the following EFI folder and replace it.

After this you will be able to install Catalina 10.15.4. All usb ports on the back is enabled with custom ssdt.

When the installation of Catalina complete you have to install clover 5107 to the main ssd and again replace the efi folder with the one attached.

For a clean installation, you can follow this guide in this thread. You must use MultiBeast for Catalina and the latest version of Clover Configuration. There are users, who after updating the kext, have made the update directly from macOS. To be successful in the installation following the guide, check that your BIOS does not have a version higher than 11.

With the folder i have attach you can install later bios. I am at F14.
