Hi, I have msi gs65 8sf and since HDMI and DisplayPort are connected to dGPU, connecting an external monitor through them is not possible.
Question: is it possible to connect type-c via usb using the type-c to hdmi adapter to connect an external monitor? If the answer is yes then how will this be achieved? or buy usb displaylink?

Yes, you just need to use a usb type c dongle

asked this question because I didn’t succeed when I connected various type-c to hdmi adapters, did you have a real experience connecting via type-c? I didn’t succeed

Hello, My Synaptic touchpad now works with 3-finger movements thanks to kext voodooPS2Controller version 2.1.4. The problem that remains is that the two physical buttons do not work. Do you have any idea on the subject? I didn’t look too much or look.Thanks in advance

I'm on MSI GE73VR (i7 7700HQ & GTX 1070)

I come from functional high sierra.
But on catalina like that everything is functional except the sound, I have my integrated input card detect but impossible to have sound...

I tried to change the layout-id using AppleALC, AppleHDA nothing works... I also tried the Voodoo kext...

If someone could enlighten me, thank you

Thanks to this guide I could install Catalina in my laptop MSI GF72 7RE. But I've got a lot of issues with the post-installation.

Can somebody give me advices or links that can help me to solve the following issues:
- Brightness keys doesn't work and solution of this post doesn't work
- Control MSI backlight RGB keyboard doesn't work (SSKeyboardHue app from this post don't recognize the keyboard).

Hi everyone

Thanks to this guide I could install Catalina in my laptop MSI GF72 7RE. But I've got a lot of issues with the post-installation.

Can somebody give me advices or links that can help me to solve the following issues:
- Disable the NVIDIA GPU (I tried method in this post but it seems to do nothing). How I can detect if it's working ??
- USBInjectorAll gives me problems and freeze the laptop. Using USBPorts kext from this post I colud do the installation but now although it seems that USB ports are working I think they are limited because in System Information max speed is 12 Mbps.
- Sleep doesn't work
- Brightness keys doesn't work and solution of this post doesn't work
- Control MSI backlight RGB keyboard doesn't work (SSKeyboardHue app from this post don't recognize the keyboard).

I also have a good new: with VoodooPS2Controller kext from acidanthera, synaptic works as trackpad accepting 3 fingers movements and much more (buttons don't work but they are no necessary because you can do anythonk with one two or 3 fingers on synaptic).

Thanks a lot for your excellent guide, almost everything works. I have been trying for more than 2-3 weeks, with various guides. One issue: when I try to apply patches using plist editor, it says error...found a non-key, line 484. Any advise? Thanks again.
