pastrychef's Asus ROG Strix Z370-G Gaming (WI-FI AC) build w/ i9-9900K + AMD 6600 XT

DRM works with iMacPro1,1. Sidecar doesn't.

Sidecar works with iMac19,1. DRM doesn't. There are imperfect workarounds for DRM but, again, they are imperfect.

Regarding this... for people with an 8700 and a dGPU, is there a difference between using 18,x or 19,x and which do you suggest?

Between iMac18,x and iMac19,x, I suggest 19,x.

Great, thanks.

I have done some research and not really come to any conclusion so far, which would you suggest is best 19,1 or 19,2?

According to Everymac;
19,2 has the 8700 but a 555X/560X or Vega 20
19,1 has 570/575 or 580 cards, but doesn't have the i7-8700.

Am I right in thinking that the gpu said smbios has is not that relevant, providing it is in the same family (500)?
Therefore for a i7-8700k and RX580, iMac19,2 would be best? Or is 19,1 fine too?

I just use iMac19,1. I've never used iMac19,2 but either should be fine.

Hi @pastrychef

I've followed your guide and have created the UniBeast drive. I then downloaded your EFI folder at the bottom and replaced the EFI-Backups folder I had on the USB drive with your one. However, when it starts installing, I see the white Apple logo and the progress bar, it eventually reaches 100% but is then stuck there. Any ideas?

Just changed to iMac19,2... everything seems to be fine. Going to try out the shikivga=80 argument that is supposed to spoof MacOS to use the AMD card for DRM content as it does with iMacPro1,1.

Boot in verbose mode and post a picture of when it stops.

Make sure you give it ample time to complete the installation.

It should work for Apple TV but Netflix and Amazon Prime Videos will probably still not work in Safari.
