Updated my Lenovo Y700. Now I have one problem. External monitor is not detected automatically, I need to unplug HDMI and plug it again. Or turn off and on my monitor

Same problem but with a desktop hackintosh.

It’s my main display and I’ve to reconnect HDMI port to watch the display.

Have you solved it?

Let me know if you get something because I don’t know what else to try
Switching SMBIOS model seemed to do the trick for me.. (in my case I moved from iMac18,1 to iMac19,2), the only issue that it's left is that I have to turn the second monitor off and right back on to get it working, but at least main monitor doesn't go to power saving mode now after boot..

Remember to keep Serial Number, SmUUID and Board Serial Number while switching model, to avoid any issues with licensed software if you have any installed on your machine..

It worked but now when it goes to sleep or the screen locks, when I press any key to wake it I have the black screen.

Do you know how to fix it?

Thank you a lot

Not yet, still investigating the issue (skeep issue for me as well).. might be worth looking into this though..

I’m gonna try this “partial fix”, but I’m not sure if I’ll get it because I don’t have so much experiencia modifying that things hahaha

Edit: tried and not working.

I just upgraded to Catalina 10.15.4 and also had the displayport problem. Luckily I have 2 monitors hooked up to my Radeon RX 580, one displayport (43" 4k) and the other hdmi (old 17" dell). I was dragging to figure it out, and the switch to SMBIOS 19,2 from 17,1 didn't fix the problem.

What did fix the problem was switching to MacPro6,1.

I now have all my hardware working again after the upgrade, including the new 2T PCIe 4 Sabrent NVMe.

Same problem on 10.5.5, but I tried whatevergreen argument "igfxonln=1", and now auto detection is working!
