[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

Hello!

I flashed original Thunderbolt 3 firmware from iMac 19.1 to my GC-TITAN RIDGE, and now it works perfectly!

Besides, I also tested BlackmagicDesign eGPU firmware on GC-TITAN RIDGE. It seems like a miracle that the card can be recognized by my MacBook Pro! Maybe DIY an eGPU is feasible.

How did you flash the firmware ?
Just for interest wanted to test it and I only get this message : Image size (516096 B) doesn't match the flash chip's size (1048576 B)!

Anyone else on the f9b firmware for the Designare? It seems to be all good but was trying a 5.1GHz over lock but it seems to stick at 5GHz, can anyone else confirm?

You can’t via Linux or macOS to flash that firmware. Instead, you have to do it on Windows.

So you just flashed the bin as it is via ch341A Programm to your Titan Ridge and that's it ?

The Settings in the picture are those which you used for the Titan Ridge ? @johnny7874209

Yep! I used CH341A Programmer to flash my Titan Ridge card.

Right! The software will recognize the chip automatically. So, all you need to do is to open the firmware in that software, and then flash it to your Titan Ridge card. It’s simpler than using Terminal.

Hello @johnny7874209,

Which motherboard are you using with the flashed GC-Titan Ridge?

Have you tested the following:
  • Thunderbolt device connection to Port 1?
  • Thunderbolt device connection to Port 2?
  • USB-C device connection to Port 1?
  • USB-C device connection to Port 2?
  • Hot plug capability on both Port 1 and Port 2?

It is OOB? Do you use any ssdt?

@S1lla,

Did you follow a build guide for the Dominus Extreme or otherwise document the build procedure somewhere?
