  • Check if Thunderbolt Port 5 is activated. The screenshot below shows Port 7, but please check Port 5 instead.

I used the supplied code as is, from your Micro-Guide for AR linked above, with my flashed Alpine Ridge on the X299 platform. I also used your supplied SSDT-TB as is, only changing RP05 to redirect for the X299 mobo.

Port 5 was activated! (A first for me: thanks!)

Hi CaseySJ! I have Alpine Ridge and I want to make it fit for my hackintosh. I don't know how to modify the firmware for that. Please give me a hand. It is not a problem to read/write the chip (btw it has blue dot near pin 1). I attach also my original Alpine Ridge firmware. My thunderbolt card is in PEG1. Thank you!

You got it right! Now change it to this:
  • 37
  • 00000000 00003100
  • CBD78EA
  • 025D0031 00111101 01
  • 0881 80028000 0000
  • 0882 90018000 0000
  • 0883 80048001 0000
  • 0884 90038001 0000
  • 0285
  • 0B862001 00640000 000000
  • 03 8780
  • 02C8
  • 02C9
  • 058A 500000
  • 02 CB
  • 070141 53555300
  • 12025448 554E4445 52424F4C 54455820 3300
After modifying ThunderboltDROM, reboot, open Terminal and type log show --last boot | grep Thunderbolt. It will tell us what the correct CRC32_C values should be.
Thanks !
Ok i will try.
And repport.

@CaseySJ Finally I got it to work as you said. I needed to allow MSR02 to be able to reboot on the Mac OS Catalina SSD. When I Shut down the computer I tried to Start again the computer to see how it was working.

But now the computer starts one second then immediately shut down. The motherboard stays illuminated as it was in sleep mode. Each time I press Start again it shut down immediately. Doesn't seem to be an Hardware problem (everything is Brandnew).
Does it make you think of something special causing this ? Most of the time I can overpass this Switching PSU off then waiting 5 minute, then Turning on the Computer, which does make me think its not an Hardware Issue.
"Boot Failure which can be due to invalid Bios settings".
All bios settings are done as you advise.

This is my config :
- Designare Z390 - F8 BIOS
- Sabrent NVME 1TB- 2280 (Windows)
- 970 Pro Samsung - 1TB - Catalina
- I9900K
- Saphire Nitro Radeon RTX5700 8GB
- FenVi T919
-RX750 Corsair PSU
- 64GB Corsair Ballistix-3000mHZ-Cas 15

1) Could you link me some amazon 1 TO cheap SSD 2.5 for saving the BackUp ? A cheap SSD External Housing ?
2) I Haven't Put any Thermal paste on the CPU (I'm Using Corsair Hydro H100x) : on the instructions its written that its not needed because there is some included in the Water-cooling.

Thank you

Wonderful! I've removed the "Help Wanted" banner from the Micro-Guide.

I've asked @NorthAmTransAm and @scottkendall to post their most current modified firmware for GC-Alpine Ridge. Once that's done, I'll add a reference to it from Post #1.

UPDATE:
  • I decided to try and patch your NVM 20 for GC-Alpine Ridge.
  • Attached ZIP has 2 versions.
  • Please see which one works (if any).
  • No guarantee that either file will work, so please be prepared to flash original firmware back to the chip.

Here you have :

Unfortunately that is NVM18. I need NVM26 grr...

@CaseySJ I just need to confirm that my firmware for the EX3 (nvm18) works on an actual nvm18 card as I'm using nvm26 with no DSB2 devices (double grr!). I suspect it will.

@Loloflatsix, if your card is NVM18 you're welcome to try it. If so, I'll PM it plus my SSDT with the fully functional TBROM.

Attached. Let me know how it goes please. Mine was quite temperamental about the wrong TBROM FYI.

Since there are some differences of the Gigabyte-AR DROM, I'm attaching the version (original, not modified) I read off and referenced earlier in this thread.

Perhaps it can be modified (I'm not so clever as you all to do this)?
