[SUCCESS] Gigabyte Designare Z390 (Thunderbolt 3) + i7-9700K + AMD RX 580

This is what I got:

This is the file I am using it had another name but I changed it because it was easier to add to open core that way.
I still need to iron out some hiccups in my SSDT. Will see what lessons are learned in the process. Meanwhile, the device immediately before ThunderboltDROM does not seem to be needed. Same goes for the properties after LinkDetails. This is what I mean by "hiccups" -- I need to figure out which properties are and are not needed.

@juantrix would you be happy to let us know how you edited your ThunderboltConfig variable in the SSDT’s as my card slot address is different from either of yours. Thanks!

GC-Titan Ridge add-in-card must have Pins 3 and 5 tied together to force power.

Ah thank you. Yes, I missed it. I have tried this card before in my Designare Z390 (obviously without the new ROM). My goal was just to use it to convert DP in to LG ultra fine TB3 (which I am starting to think is more USB 3 since the monitors work on my system with TB turned off in the bios) but I didn't know then about the pin 3 to 5 hack. I think I might pick up another Titan Ridge card to see even without the new ROM if it will work as the converted with the pin 3 to 5 hack.

Not to be a nitpicker but in your RP guide you tied 7 & 3 together but 7 & 8 seem like a better grouping since they are next to each other but 3 is on the other side of the clip. I mean it is really 6 of 1 half dozen but if we are going for "easier" 7/8 :)
That was intentional because VCC (pin 8) on the Flash chip must be connected and most of the electrical current consumed during operation is likely drawn from this pin. Therefore I did not want to split this pin.
And really thank you for all the help you provided me yesterday I might have got where I am today but with a lot bigger headache! I think the RP is the way to go with the flashing mostly because it does everything standalone. It also gives you a device you can use for alternate things when you are done. A programer is just a programer when you done doing the programing.
Agreed. The Raspberry Pi is a wonderful multi-purpose tool.

I tried that in Step 1 of the post I linked. Unfortunately, even with Pins 3 and 5 connected, the GC-Titan Ridge was unable to connect to any Thunderbolt device until I flashed the modified firmware. In retrospect, I'm not sure if my SSDT is to blame so I may restore the original firmware and try again.

Meanwhile, if you get another GC-Titan Ridge, I would be interested to know your findings with original firmware and possibly with modified firmware when connected to LG UltraFine.

No idea I am not even 100% sure where SSDT file came from.. Other then the link speed being low, and sleep only working with nothing plugged into the TB3 controller minor issues compared to only working on cold plug and sleep crash.

I'm sorry. I'm super new to forums. I'll give it another go. Thank you for replying.

Yes, we can only ask for perfection from a real Mac. Everything else is an approximation of varying degrees...

ok will do. BTW I'm on iMac19,1

Mine displays the Gigabyte UltraDurable splash screen and then runs Clover. I never see "American Megatrends..."

This shows up this way if you disable the full screen logo show option in the firmware boot section.
