An iDiot's Guide To Lilu and its Plug-ins

@vegaline,

Thats very strange ... it might suggest that AppleALC (or Lilu) is not loading correctly (or they are loading and exiting) and the system is relying on just Clover to inject the layout ... if true then it might explain your issue.

Try searching the IOREG for "Lilu" and "AppleALC" if they are not present then the kexts are not loading correctly"

Also check the "HDEF" device in the IOREG, make sure that the property "alc-layout-id" matches the target layout you want to use for your codec and that "layout-id" is set to 7.

This is explained in the "Trouble Shooting AppleALC" section of the guide. :-

Cheers

Hello Jay,

I think I'm on the wrong way. I thought the problem is S/PDIF but it's not the truth. Honestly I'm lost in this issue. My Hackintosh randomly reboots when I stop use it. And sometimes I lost the bluetooth when it starts. After reboot bluetooth works again.
Regards,
Vegaline

Ps.:
Finally everything working well. I've made a mistake at the beginning... BrcmBluetoothInjector.kext, BrcmFirmwareData.kext and AirportBrcmFixup.kext have been placed in to the S/L/E and also to L/E. I just removed from S/LE and everything working nearly fine. The only problem is after sleep I lost the bluetooth connections.
Once again thank you for the support :)
Regards,
Vegaline

Hi guys,

I've been trying to fix the DRM problem using the shiki flag on iMac19,1 but no dice. Then I tried using the iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS but now I get a HDCP error trying to use Netflix on Safari.

My system is an i7 8700, Z390 Designare, RX580 Nitro+.

Anyone has any ideas?

Thank you!

@bugsyraz,

It is stated on the official WEG support thread and in the WEG documentation that there are issues with running these DRM fixes on certain AMD Polaris based dGPU's. it seems to be a case that it works for some but not for others even with same hardware (so could be down to dGPU firmware).

It's an issue that has been known for several months ... the guys and girls at Acidanthera are actively working on it, we just have to wait and see what happens.

Cheers

I too am waiting for this to be fixed. For now, if DRM in Safari is as important to you as it is to me, you can use 10.14.6. That's the last version where DRM works for me with my RX580 using the iMacPro1,1 profile.

Well it's funny because I'm exactly on 10.14.6 using iMacPro1,1 profile with a RX580. For some reason I'm getting a HDCP error. It says "make sure your monitor is HDCP compliant and isn't mirrored using AirPlay."

Then I thought I'd try disconnecting the projector and guess what? It worked!

I have two BenQ BL2711U 4K monitors hooked up through DP cables and one projector hooked up through HDMI.

Is it something about the HDMI cable or is it maybe how this HDMI port is configured? If the cable didn't support HDCP, I'd think there would have been problems with playing DRM content on windows as well.

Trying to figure this out. I have Cascade Lake -X chip and a Radeon VII. Not sure which options to pick in whatevergreen/lilu/hackintool. I have weird video issues at startup, like my screen goes black right after all the loading and before the login.

On restart, my screen is digital static.

@r2tincan,

Difficult to know what the issue is without any more info and I don't have a Radeon VII GPU so i can not test.
However if it was me i would configure the system as follows:-
  • Disable IGPU in BIOS
  • Make Radeon VII the primary GPU
  • Use iMacPro1,1 SMBIOS
  • Install Lilu + WEG
Cheers

I don't actually have an igpu on my processor.

@r2tincan,

Sorry I only just noticed your running a X299 system ......
Probably best if you try to get help from one of the X299 gurus such as @KPG
He has a GitHub repo for his X299 builds here :-

Within that repo is a SSDT for Radeon VII on X299 system, that might be worth looking at ...

Cheers
Jay
